Just curious, how come threads get deleted more often than locked? I can't really see the importance of deleting them IMO (Especially if it's just a simple unharmful question or so.)

Well, the moderators and admins vowed to be stricter in v.2, so you're seeing it in action.

I can't see how the "More wierd and useless facts" would get deleted though... It wasn't direct member abuse/flame or any illegal stuff.

More wierd and useless facts was BW's thread, and I think he deleted it because he was frustrated with how everyone trashed the thread right away

well locking is kinda like kickin' someone in the face, deleting is about "blowing the guy into kingdom come". in conclusion: it is more cool

yes i am deleting posts that I make. and i will delete posts you make that are getting out of hand. No need to lock it when we are trying to make the forums better.

Ill even delete your post if I find it crude, rude, mean, lame.

If you attack the staff or me I will warn you. If you argue with each other I will warn you. Big things are coming up and I will not allow anyone to mess it up for Intense.

I'm not blaming you, though deleting of threads over just locking them is sort of uncalled for. I understand the deletion of simonsaysdie's threads because they are complete trash, but that funny and odd facts thread doesn't deserve deletion, it could've been fun.

to many complaints about the thread. I only put it in cosmos cause the threads in there were getting way to serious and well my thread was torn apart.

this is a bit drastic in my eyes. for me locking means 'this thread is crap/lame/ugly/agressive/...' and especially attracting flaming. that's what locking is for. deletion is only an emergency measure for cases like mass-spamming (like 10 times the same topic) and illegal stuff (warez, pr0n and such). deletion is definitly not for censoring, which in the case of deleting thread due to some posts in it is not the right way to go.

i say this here as i've been/am on different forums and one thing i notice here that is very strong compared to the other forums is deletion. since you can now see deleted posts (to be honest intense, this was a rather bad tactic move towards your mods and admins) it is more obvious when it is done and stirrs up a lot of troubles.

locking is enough, deleting always causes troubles as it is easily considered censoring or disadvantaging parties. just my 2 cents about that.

Yeah, and members can't see deleted threads either, remember that. I can't recall what those "wierd facts" were :|

You made some solid points. I thank you for stating them. This is why Im the admin and I what I think is best. I have only deleted a couple posts not many like cheap has stated.

I have warned and complained about members going into other threads and spamming/being rude and it is still happening even from veteran members.

So at this point I am deleting threads that are deserving. I will delete a post from somone who is making the forums bad.

The end!
