I've realised that I don't actually have a single thread for the pimpage and update of David Hunter stuff on these forums, so considering that I've a number of things to deal with at present, I thought it better to start one than keep plonking new random threads in, lol.

Mod Project Progress;

The original David Hunter is currently putting away in complete darkness and we're not saying much about what we're up to. Needless to say there's a VERY big release on its way with an AWESOME amount of new material, bugfixing and other generalised coolness in the works, although I'm not expecting it to be complete for a short while (Easter if we're lucky) - the reason for that is that I'm currently working solo on code, and will require a single modeller and 2d artist to do some relatively easy stuff in the near future (new powerups, new menu system, other stuff that I'm not mentioning yet :carefree:
Expect some beasty news on the entire new contents in January, as well as some Help Wanted requests and some screenshots.

I've just started putting a team together for Dh2, and haven't gotten far. For a game which plays so well and is visually so compelling, it has a VERY small editing community, which is a bit irritating. I'm hoping to find a modeller and skinner soon so we can get down to some serious work with a small efficient team.

David Hunter 3 is currently stagnating under a horrific under-staffing crisis :dead:. We're having difficulty keeping the work-flow going on such an incredibly huge project, although we're determined to keep it open. There's not much new to report other than it's possible we may be forced to make an engine switch to a more supportive community.

Recent stagnation in this project appears to be coming to an end. With recent addition to the staff team, and the personal completion of a large amount of the code work, it's just a case of popping graphics into our currently under develop universe which we'll be seeing something of soon - such as SCALE planets with multi-dock capacity, specialist trade lanes and a hell of a lot of cool beans scenario stuff. The newly enhanced cockpit view and overall game physics makes the game play exceptionally well of late. Things are looking up at last for Dh4 :)

Dh4RTS hasn't been progressing as fast as previously, however a great many of the ini scripting issues that we had surmised have been solved. We've successfully managed to get a zero-gravity environment working, where the units do NOT fall into the sky on testing :confused: and multi-layered shield systems which go up and down, as well as constantly recharge whilst up dependent on different vessels and the firepower presented against them. Our model work has slowed due to model staff having time issues, and we're looking for someone to deal with the necessary skinning to get all our great stuff into the game as fast as possible. Things are looking good for this project.

Standing Help Wanted Requests

There are currently no Help Wanted requests for the original David Hunter, however I am very open to any help offered in the form of highly experieced coders, or modellers, skinners or 2d artists with a modest degree of ability.

We're open to a large variety of staff at present, as all positions are available to be filled, although our most important position at present is that of someone to model our units! I'm also looking for an ini scripter, other model staff (for example someone who wants to make a nice big model of a semi-3d world map). Concept Artists and 2d Artists are welcome, as our musicians, sound effects etc. We have a full team to recruit from scratch as the project is only in its very early fledgling stages.

We're desperate for someone in touch with the Far Cry community to take up the role of Public Relations Representitive, as my offlinedness doesn't allow me to make the necessary community work feasible. We're also open to anyone willing to help out in any field regarding the Far Cry modding scene, with basic levels of skill. Mappers are welcome on any level of skill, as these are able to learn their required skills very quickly with Sandbox's intuitive interface and a few handy tutorials.

We're mostly looking for staff to take control of the awesome amount of models and relative skinning that needs to be done before the final stages of the project can be initiated, and the singleplayer stuff can be dealt with.
We're also open to musicians, sound technicians, and especially an ini scripter to take all this crazy ini work off my hands!

We're desperately seeking a model skinner to help us get our models completed and into the game. We're only looking for a competant level of ability. We're also open to offers from modelling staff with some level of expertise and a sound technician, otherwise our staffing is relatively complete.
