Custom Character Animations! ARGH!!! | Locked | |

Hey, I'm trying to do custom character animations for HL2 (or any other Source game for that matter) with 3DS Max, which is fine, I'm okay with the animating. The problem is, I don't know how to get it ingame. I don't want to create new characters or anything, I just want to create a new animation for a character included with HL2 to perform. How do I do this? I have Cannonfodder's SMD importers and exporters, but I don't know what else to do beyond that. I've googled all over the place and I still can't find information or tutorials on what I want to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Edited by: Flap-Jack |

I don't know the details, but I think you need to export an smd as a "skeletal animation" or something of the likes, then define the animation in the .qc referring to the animation smd. |

Use makehuman to create unlimited body and heads. then waste a month getting your char imgame -- Q4 militia 1.7 rCon mod - repacked into pk4s with dds images => |

if you extract the mdl for an existing model I think you will see several different SMD's which are different animation sequences, side steps, running etc. so if you copy those names for your own animation SMDs and then when you open the .QC file you should only have to change the directory and the animations should work, of course you will have to do other .QC editing such as the model and materials |
