I have been trying for about a 4 or 5 weeks to get a model into hl2mp. The model I had had a horrible poly count so I simply just used a long rectangle just to see if i could get it in for giggles. I added v_oppressor folder and copied in all the files from the v_shotgun except for the references simply because I didn't want to deal with making new animations atm. Once I merged v_hands to the rectangle in XSI, I exported it as a a SMD file named oppressor_reference into the v_oppressor folder. The actual problem I am having is when I go into the game, the hands are there but no weapon of any sort to be found. I can't figure for the life of me why i cant seen to get the weapon model to show up. It even fires fine just no model to show for it. |

Perhaps it is an issue with the material, what does the vmt look like? If left unchanged from the shotgun, perhaps the rectangle will require a texture projection and a texture that links to the one the shotgun used. |

Yeh i didnt use any kind of material, I figured if I didnt it would just show a untextured box. I guess I thought wrong on that one. So i need to just put a texture on it? and link that in the qc file i guess? |
