Continuing the Halo Franchise after Microsoft is done with it? Thread

I have a idea that, after Halo is done and finished with Microsoft. We the community could take over and create unofficial sequel's and game's to the Halo franchise. It's just a little idea and I want to see how many people like this idea.

For a example of another sequel.

The covenant return with the remainder of the brute's and the last few prophet's. They want revenge and want to finish what they started. They look broken as a whole, they wear dirty less accurate armor. They look bigger , meaner and scarier. They wield weapon's that barely work and have ship's that are half destroyed and half working. Showing that they had little technology to work with to repair there ship's.

They will probably never hand the name over to the community its far to much of a money maker for Microsoft.

I never said they would. I mean litterally make a unofficial continuation of the game. I mean it be legal as long as it was not sold.

Only legal if the owners of the IP says so.

If you don't sell a Copyrighted Product it doesn't mean it is legal to use it. You will need an allowance for this which is pretty impossible for Microsofot to ever allow such a thing.

You're free to create your own fan game, as long as it's not called Halo. Project Contingency is one such game, as far as I'm concerned it's still active.

However, I doubt Microsoft will be finished with Halo in the near future, or even in the far future.

This year you have Halo: MCC coming out, next year it's Halo 5: Guardians, then we're looking at another two years or three for Halo 6. Probably something in between as it's not a trilogy anymore but a saga. Then they've also got a second trilogy planned after the current Reclaimer Saga. Which will also probably not be a trilogy but a saga as well.

I wanted to make my own Halo game as well, but I'm working on my own projects, far more freedom.
