Wouldn't it make more sense to put the newest comments for the news, on top?
I like to see what the latest person said,
One who might have some of the latest feedback for the game.
Not the "First Post" guy.

Same thing for mod images,
And poll comments.
For Forums it makes sense,
Cause you need to see the thread starter.

Anyone else think about this?

I've brought this one up before. The comment system really needs to turn thread based like the forums, but with the order reversed. The current system is impossible to follow.

Almost all sites Digg, Slashdot, Devaintart etc order comments in news by date posted. Ordering them in a reverse direction would go against the norm.

No we still want it to be organized by date posted,
Just in the reverse direction,
Newest post first and oldest post last.
Except for Forums.

I thought it would make it easier.
Its organized that way on mod comments,
Just not for anything else.

yes and i'm saying no site does that - since you cannot follow the flow of comments when they are reversed

Deviant art does it, Gamespot does it, IGN, I see a lot of web sites that allow options for comment display. Just make it an option to display comments in DSC or ASC order by date.

I'm with Spector here. An option would be sweet.

And I'm still confused.
Moddb DOES do it on Mod profiles!
And Game profiles, snd Personal profiles as well.
And I find it easier to follow those discussions.
It's really hard to follow Forum topics and News discussions with the current setup.

Of course I think Spectors Idea is excellent,
I never really thought of using an option,
That would make it much easier.

Well it isn't too hard to implement, infact the system already supports ordering comments in that direction, you just need to add ?sort=id-desc to the URL and its done.

For example:

That makes sense, it would be nice if there was an interface on the actual site though.
Right above the comment section or something.
It would make it easier for the rest of Moddb,

I never knew you could do that,
I think that would get tedious though,
Doing that for each page I visit,
Unless you could log on that way,
Or edit it permanently somehow.
