I think a comment notification (or perhaps RSS feed) system would be extremely useful. Currently there's no way to know if someone has commented on a video or a picture that we've put up unless you obsessivly check all your content. This often leads to comments on older material going unanswered.

This i want aswell, i recall discussing it with scott when v4 was in dev and the call was to not deploy such a feature due to clutter and the mass amounts of comments the site gets.
Again however it would be a cool feature.

I can understand the clutter, certainly, but do think that the pros outweigh the cons, in this case.

its tough to implement, because the "comment system" doesn't know who wants to be notified - plus it would put a bit of strain on the system. I've added to my "todo" it wont be done any time soon but I will look into it.

Perhaps simply a "Comments" page for each mod that lists all the comments and links to the page that they exist on? Might be a bit too sloppy, though. My lack of web systems knowledge is showing...*goes back to modding*

Yeah, I would love something like this. Facebook Fan pages have a feature where you can basically look at all the comments for a given medium at once. It would be better if you could see comments for EVERYTHING at once, but that's a good start. This lets us respond to fans on the Overgrowth Facebook page relatively easily.

On Mod DB, It would be great for page owners to be able to monitor their media for comments because as it is right now, if people are leaving comments for Wolfire on the Overgrowth Mod DB page, I simply will not see them. Facebook's system would be cool, but ideally, it would be great to have a page that shows all comments for everything. An RSS feed would be absolutely ideal and I can guarantee you that that would increase your engagement by a lot -- I know the Overgrowth page would be replying to virtually every comment left on it, which encourages more people to comment, which makes us comment on it more, etc. It's an awesome feedback loop. :D

PS. Here's an example of the Facebook system: facebook.com/photo_comments.php?id=39924081634 (sorry, not allowed to post URLs yet)

Don't get me wrong, we love Mod DB and are really excited to move from Facebook to here. :) This would make things easier on us though.
