Why not simply register a "real" IRC channel? You could always run the Java applet from your site. - Edited By Vyse On Wed 17th, Sep 2003 @ 10:12:46am |

Sep 17 2003 Anchor | |
I done that once -- Nothing. |

Sep 17 2003 Anchor | ||
You done what once? Registered an IRC channel? |
||
|
Sep 17 2003 Anchor | |
no linked a java one to an irc channel meh registering an irc channel is one simple command line -- Nothing. |
||
Sep 17 2003 Anchor | ||
I've tried setting up a Java applet before but I didn't really know what I was doing. |

Obviously more than enough I've set up a Fniggium IRC channel but the bloody thing, along with my user account on Gamesnet, disappeared when I was in Vancouver. --

||
Sep 17 2003 Anchor | ||
If you do not join your channel for 2 weeks GamesNET unregisters it. However your account should still be there. If you get one set up again let me know, I run a couple channels on there and I won't mind helping your channel stay occupied. |

Hey it was frequented by others during the whole trip, and I was only gone for about 1 1/2 weeks. Yes, my account's gone too... --
|
||
Sep 18 2003 Anchor | ||
That's no good. You should re-register. |

Yeah, my Mod's website is free, so I can't use up too much of my space othwise where the hell am I going to put the forum, news and downloads? - Edited By Wilhelm_III On Thu 18th, Sep 2003 @ 8:04:18pm |

A forum takes a lot of bandwidth and space, you need to pay hosting for that one. |
||
|
Sep 19 2003 Anchor | |
You sure? It said "coming soon". |
||
Sep 20 2003 Anchor | ||
If you have free hosting look into your bandwidth limits, and the amount of space you're allotted for data. If your BW has a less than generous cap on it, a forum might not be the thing for you. Unless you plan on keeping it small and simple. |

How much BW is "generous"? I have 500 mb per day allowence, is that bad? - Edited By Wilhelm_III On Sun 21st, Sep 2003 @ 3:20:56pm |
