What would be the best engine for a realistic survival game? I would need an interface kind of like the sims games, with a menu containing many tabs with status bars like food, water, sleep etc. Also on click menus and wsad controls. Preferably nothing too cpu intensive and with more focus on speed that graphics. Thanks. |

Well, the realism is not going to come from the engine, it's from your decisions about your game. if you want something stable and fast I would recommend Unity3D. It´s free and easy to use and you will have no problem getting the basics like interface and movement in a short time. this is also asuming your are trying to make a 3rd person game from a birds eye view. Unity3D should be your best option. |

These things you mention are all reliant on the programming of the game, not the engine choice. Engines have nothing to do with how good or bad a game will look graphically, or what graphical feature can be displayed. Anything can really be done with ANY game engine. It's down to a matter of scripting language choice and 2D or 3D capabilities. Unity and Unreal are the two really big ones right now however. |
