Best cheapest video cards to play doom 3 on. Thread

My pc, is 555mhz pentium 3 and nvidia vanta card, which i can guarentte you never heard of. What card should i update too, to play doom 3 on my pc. I was thinking of not updating, but i am thinking i rather play on the pc for doom 3 than xbox. Because it looks like the mod community is a nice place for doom 3, mod makers.

i need a new computer, guess fuck that than... i can't just get a new video card. thats dumb, i am not rich, i am not going to go out and pay 1,000 dollars for a new computer. i guess i'll just get doom xbox, damn it...

well, my computer ran the beta leak of doom 3, and it ran at 12 fps, can anyone please explain how my computer could run that?

uhm... fps on xbox... that has to sux.

otherwise if you don't mind fiddeling with your pc inlife you can try to get your hands on a upgrade kick. they should be available at reasonable price (no idea how much they cost in $, i'm sFR ^_^). plus a nice card this should be a lot less than what you have.

Get the sapphire 9600xt for 100 US.

The Doom3 leak was quite a while ago remember, new things have been added/changed, etc. Basically, your CPU ain't going to handle Doom3 at all. Your going to need to look at a brand new computer to handle it.

BTW, hang on to the leak, because it had sexier sounds.

12 fps is shitty speed, so even if my computer could play doom 3 full version at 12 fps, it wouldn't be worth it. 12fps, is like super ass slow motion

Yeah, best to wait for Doom 3 on Xbox in a couple months unless you don't have the console.

you can buy new comps with 2.6ghz processors for under 400, and they come with decent ram too as well as a vid card

Or just buy a refurbished computer. Like $100-500 for some decent computers.

My friend got a refurbished AMD 2600 (2.8 GHz) with 384 ram and over 100 GB with both HDs at under 200 dollars.
