it's gonna take me days to sift through this forum looking for all the good suggestions to add in v2.0...

i tell you what, if you guys see a good idea, quote it in this thread and i'll say either "yes it'll be included" or "no never" or "not v2, maybe 2.5"

that be awesome, save me some work, but i guess at some stage i have to go through this

image gallery on profiles once they meet a post count (10 images only) *me possible but not until after v2, systems like this are likely to be abused

rant system *me agrees, need to have a good ole yarn

clan system *me says this would bring in tons of new members to the site, not sure if thats what we want

java chat applet so peesp who dont use or understand mirc can join in on the chat. *me says here here, needed to get more peeps in the IRC chan

Sub forums arent needed, guess I just coded them for fun

Deleting posts is a pain atm because it goes to the last page, so if we catch something last we have to keep going back to that page to delete more. *me how about i make it redirect back to the post you deleted the thread from?

Feedback Watch - where a mod leader/mod team member gets notified if someone comments his mod, news, or image gallery pictures.

Mod System Requirements - many mods have higher requirements than original games, so this may be useful.

Toplist - something like a popular PhpBB modification, where people can vote is a mod cool or not; it could be more advanced (different lists for different game engines), but a general rating would also be cool.

maybe it hould be more than 300 posts, because sometime 300 posts can go too quickly.

The java applet just needs to be pointed at irc.gamesurge.net, though I seem to remember it having problems before as well.

How about 400 forum posts and atleast 12 visits - then you can have a 10 image gallery.

For every 1000 after that you get an extra picture space.

Only two images otherwise.

However anything similar to that requires a spam limit, otherwise its just encouraging useless crap.

Maybe, there should be an application that you fill out with suggestion critria like 300 post, 20 site posts or what ever. The application would include 3 or 4 questions. Ones like what are you going to use the site for and why do you deserve the space. Then an admin could decide if the user was responsible and deserving of the space.

Then only people who really want the space fill out the application probablly.

This of course leads to the fact that people will be like to say they where unfairly discrimanted against because they didn't get hosting. But it is a website and the admins word is law so that doesnt really matter.

I don't know if v2.0 will initially support member image galleries.. it will come eventually as i understnad you guys like to show off your work but it is sorta unrelated to mods so isn't no. 1 priority at this stage

sorry about the double post but having said this, one of the most exciting features that the modDB will include is the inclusion of Mod Downloads, which will be super special since it will not only have the latest version available for download, but every other version of the mod still floating around.. so for example you maybe able to get CS beta4 or something like that if you wanted

the download system will be hard to support, so i'm not sure of whethor i will have to charge to use it, or implement a system where you can only download after 300 posts... it may have a mix of both, whereby you can download 1 mod a week if you've got the required number of posts... so yeah it'll be an awesome system and it maybe free.. just gotta figure it out with greg

i wouldent go buy the post system, people will spam there way to get to 300, or just go somewhere else
