Its a nice site, but you should lower the size of the images, it loaded slow even on my ADSL, so would kill a 56k modem.

it did take a little while to load on 56k

it had images...i was running cable..and im a click and go type of guy i waited like a minute and nothing holy cow..that must tell you somethin.

The hi-resishness of the site is awesome, though I wish you could compress it a bit more somehow without losing that incredibly nice crispness.

Also, I dislike the ugly circles and underlines for hover and active links. If they were meant to be like a burglar using a marker to circle things, they should look quick and smooth Maybe even use a marker yourself and scan it in

i must be confused then...if it was the site pictures well template...that loaded in like 3 seconds...w00t!...one reason for cable.

My Pop-Up Blocker didn't like it, but it looked great when I finally got it up.

in opera, you just hit F12 then allow popups

In IE you don't have a pop-up blocker.

but IE's loophole is it sucks badly

took ages for it to load on my badly connected 56k (windows says it connected at 48kbps, but I don't believe it)

yeah, its bad for 56kers so i gonna do a simple site just for them.
uhm, Mozilla has a pop-up blocker but it doesn't have problems with the site cause it only traps pop-up that are not requested. mozilla is a free and, in my opinion, a better browser then IE. it's also open source. go download it at: mozilla.org

oh, also the images are gifs but they are about 500kb+ of image data that belongs to the template. if you got cache on then, i think, it should preform fine after the first load of the first page.

i think so, anyways why don't you guys check out firebird. its so small 6mbs or so and 1000x greater then IE or opera and its free. its free as in opensource, which neither opera or IE is, and free as in free stuff, which opera isn't. also firebird supports more standards then opera and IE combined. how funny is that?

Not bad. Some suggestions tho..

Give the twenty a shaddow, it looks unrealistic just resting there. It'll give a nice little lighting effect and make it that much better.

Same goes with the paper lining the bottom and the shells. Just do em their respecting values.

Looks like the coding could've been organized better, but you'll get better with that with experience.

You ought to make the text color a little darker too.

I got a buncha little things too, but that'll be too anal, even for me.

Oh, and give the page a title

Jeez, I must sound like an ass, but overall it's a spiffy lil site. Especially since it's ur first. Keep it up man.

i've tried shadows and for some reason it doesn't look good. i've fixed the untitled problem and i don't know whats so bad with the HTML... it checks out ok with the vaildator, and looks fine with mozilla and ie. is the problem the use of layers?

There's nothing wrong with it, cept, maybe it just me, but I get the feeling that it could've been done using less code. No biggie.
