How come there is no XNA or xbox live development part of moddb? you know peoples games they are working on... etc.. etc..? Maybe I am just missing something here and there is an XNA section of moddb but I can't seem to find it.. perhaps i am retarded and just missed it... but i dont think so? I am working on an xna game and would love to post on here.. i just wish there was more of an xna community here.. there should be... i dont see why not anyway?

There's an Xbox 360 section and a PC section, so XNA would happily fall in that category. There might not be a specific forum for it, nor a group for it, but there's nothing stopping anyone starting a group. I was looking into playing with XNA at some point, but the $100 starting fee is a bit of a put off.

Yeah the 100 dollar starting fee is a bit of a put off but it doesn't mean you cant develop on pc then pay the 100 dollars once you make some stuff and fool around on pc to decide if you really want to shell out the cash for it. and since you can use a xbox 360 controller on pc now too you might as well wait before shelling out the cash... so why not just wait to actually make something before paying? since you could release and people could buy your game and your membership could pay for itself with game sales as well as some extra cash!.... well.. maybe in a perfect world...

I am not a programmer just a lowly artist working with someone else on a couple XNA projects and hopefully finding some others to help out.. even though it may seem like i am new to moddb since my new registration name i have been using moddb for over five years now and was just surprised that there isn't an XNA section.... I have used moddb to find all the projects i have worked on etc.. and its such a great place. I have done music/art for a few mods/total conversions pretty much all of which are dead and never even released except for one music track that i did for Nexuiz thats the only game that out of oh easily 15 projects I have been a part of that actually released rather than biting the dust and wouldnt you know it its the game I did the very least amount of work on and i wasn't even given proper credit.. ugh..

so yeah i just thought it was weird that there wasn't really any obvious XNA projects on here that i could find either under pc or xbox 360 I know there probably is its just not easy to find them. Maybe ill have to start an XNA group on here and see if anyone joins up like you suggested.. I was just really shocked that there isn't any or much that I could find and it would be such a perfect place for people to post their XNA work to get peoples interest.. and find help.. etc.. etc.. and XNA users could really use a place like moddb like i said I am just really really really suprised that it seems like really no XNA creators are using moddb.. and I can't understand why they aren't besides them not seeing a more specific place for them to post their work.. but like you said there is both the xbox 360 and PC sections.. So there is nothing holding them back.. but i couldn't help but feel if there was more of a specific place in the xbox 360 section maybe more people would post their XNA games or maybe a group would help.. But I guess it is called Moddb.. not XNADB but it seems like more and more independent projects that arent just mods are finding there way on here over the years so XNA people where are you? like you suggested maybe ill start an XNA group on here.. I still can't believe there isn't one already...

Does it take much to make a group? and if you start a group do you have to really be "in charge" of it? or can you start a group and hope that things kinda run themselves?

Groups tend to run themselves, but a little coaxing from the owner, such as posting news etc always helps - or finding someone to do it for you. Raising awareness is as easy as writing up a 500-750 word news report everytime something interesting happens in the world of XNA.

I may well get into it, when I get me some spare time. Some good links, are always useful ;)

I am interested in XNA as well. I actually played around with it around a year ago.

You can find some useful information on it at.
Xna.com
Msdn.microsoft.com
En.wikipedia.org
Forums.xna.com
Xnadevelopment.com
The information on these five websites is everything you need to master this utility. (Learn to program first.)
You don't really need the last one it just helps with some basics.

How many people have read the moddb.com TOS?

"Must not contain copyright material "

"The mod is unique and original and not in violation of anothers intellectual property."
