ALIENS VERSUS PREDATOR GE MOD <NEED A WEBSITE><Recruiting> Thread

To ANY ONE who may be reading this. I am planning to make a Aliens versus predator gold edition mod. When i proposed this idea to the avp ge community in gamespy arcade, there was massive support. Many people would call this game well and trully dead, but i disagree. Ineed anyone that has any expertise and the right tools to make my SP and MP mod. But first i need a website. Hope you can help.

AvP Gold edition? That is a complete and total ripoff of the existing AvP.

Aliens versus preda tor gold, is not my expansion pack, but all ready released. Now has anyone got anything constructive to say? if you want to know more about the plot and characters in the sp, then you will ahve to pm me. As far as the mp is concerned, i think that is best left open for discussion within the current 2 man team. You see, i have been a fan of avp ge for a while. i have played it, kicked it, and basically mauled anyone (except maybe several clan memebers) whos played me at it. I have used the editing tools before. The only problem is i have no 3dmaxstudion in which to model, and couldnt touch c++ if i wanted too. NOw all of you out there who say i have NO idea are wrong. I have some......
This game is also not not dead. Their is still a active community in avp ge. I am in the RES clan, who are masters at it and other games like counter strike. Anyway, pm me.

Ok, obviously you're new here, so here's a crash course in mod recruitment 101:

1) Never expect people to PM you to get information. It is up to you to get them interested in joining you, and not up to them to inquire about more info to see if they are interested.

2) Once you decide to post some info, present it in a well organized manner. Don't throw everything into one paragraph, it gets annoying.

3) HTML is not hard to learn, and there are a million and 1 website builder programs. Take the initiative and show that you are dedicated enough to the project to put that much effort in.

4) And then there's the biggie, what can you do? Not many people will want to work for someone who only throws out orders. Other than making a site, you should learn some skill to help make the mod. From your first post, you seem to be asking for people to make it for you... people here tend to not take kindly to that.

These are jus a few quick suggestions on how to improve your recruitment effort. Basically you have to start something, and not expect people to do it for you. And don't take this personally, cause you will here the same thing from anyone that has been around and seen people like you throw out ideas and then dissapear the next day.

Ok, thanx for the tips. I have no website building programs, and if i did, i would make a site. I thank you for your useful tips. i have been working on it, the plot for the sp, and some of the new weapons. For all of you who can only flame and stamp your feet like children, more expert advise like the one from asteryus is needed. I am going to list some of the ideas i currently have on the mod.

- The plot for the sp story(I havnt got any names fixed yet only the bsaic framework) Your are a scientist, recruited by a corporationt to go and work at a distant, out of regulated spce mining complex, on a similair world to LV-426 off the first two alien films. You have been hired to conduct research into a powerful new fuel source ( i have a few ideas on the name for this but some of them are pretty stupid. We are deciding on that at the moment upon the name of this :>) Upon arrival via dropship, you are met by the
director of the facility. You are shown around the complex, and after the first introductory mission, you are awaken as the power to the facilitiy is cut...your now cut off from the outside world...stranded within a deep mining facility and with only your wits about you you must find a way out...before the true terror begins...

-Updated Ai for the marinemodels and the aliens will be implemneted to stop the annoying friendly fire bugs.
-New weapons will include the combat shotgun, and sniper rifle for the marine. Others to be decided.

Thats all i have in any state of stability at the moment.

karuto I agree with you but I also agree with them. It took people just like them to make me change my mod to be what it is.

alien, im not exactly quite sure what youre trying to do here, are you modding the expansion avp gold, trying to make an avp gold mod, or someone made the avp gold mod and youre modding it?

No, Dark Blood: Apocalypse Tomorrow was new and I supported it.Know why?Because it had it's own idea, not some run-off of already existing things.

U guys are a bit confused arnt you you? i am trying to mod ALIENS VERSUS PREDATOR GOLD EDITION. It is the 2001 re-release of avp and i want to mod it. Right. I will soon be getting a site on inuration hopefully, so then i will be able to PROPERLY put up my mod. Damn. Oh, and thanks karuto. For you Mr nuts, IM the one a bit confused. Do you hate my idea? are you interested? or dont you give a damn?. Any way, ive took asteryus tips and putting them into effect, hopefully im right.any way, ill have to wait to inuration is up.

I dont see why you dont just mod AVP2...much better game and better modding abilities...bigger community as well...

I think that AvP GE is a fantastic game, and because my pc is 2 crap to play AvP2, and that i want to give something back to the AvP community. I is still alive on GSA and that the mod we will be making will help it along. I have put this to the guys on GSA and they want it to be done. Anyway, gg.

I like that concept of someone who is that dedicated to thier ideas. It shows determination and fortitude. Althought and tis is just a thought, why not inc a storyline like that of the 1st AvP Graphic Novel with the charater noriko she was one the network managers for Weyland Corp. on a desert planet.... trying to find some of the pics I got from this but its just a suggestion. Not knocking you or the idea premise, just a additional thought idea......

Indeed you didnt. But the fact is i cant code with c++ which is a Alien language to me. I probably could make some of the levels but have no 3dmaxstudio to do so. Hopefully, i might be able to get a site up. There is a bit of a debate wheter this mod should be a avpge or a avp2 mod. But if its a avp2 mod, it will take EVEN longer to satrt. Anyway. Carni. I understand what you are saying but cant you understand that im in a bit of a fix here? i will not go away over night, at all. I just need a bit of advice to get started.

I think myself its somewhat pointless due to the fact that most people, infact the majoprity dont want to help mod such old games...you woukd be better off modding avp2....whats your rig specs?
