Post feature Report RSS Dev Blog #1: Map, Factions And Banners

Hello dear people. Here is the first official Dev Blog of our mod. In this Dev Blog, we are going to talk about new map, factions and banners

Posted by on

MAP

Last weekend our main focus was the map. We all know that in the past versions of This is Balkan 2 map was "thorn in the eye." To fix that, we used the map from 1257 AD and do party replacements. Before that we were gathering information about to which towns were historically important for that period. Because of lack of space I didn't put all of them unfortunately, but most of them are here. However, the map doesn't have problems with accessibillity and too big density of the locations. Here are the few screenshots of the map:

Pic 1: Northern part of map

Pic 2: Southern part of map

Pic 3: Part of Croatian coastline

mb4

Pic 4: Greece

mb5

Pic 5: Northwest Anatolia

Pic 6: Bulgarian and Wallachian lands

mb7

Pic 7: Serbian and Bosnian lands

mb8

Pic 8: Lands of Austrian Crown

mb9

Pic 9: Moldavia

Note that map icons are still from native. That gonna be changed soon.

Regarding the Bulgarian revolutionaries, I see you say you need historical info - the leader of the faction could be Georgi Benkovski. As for the banner - search for the Samara flag, there's a wikipedia article about it.

Vienna is simply Wien not Wiena. Period naming also makes Ljubljana incorrect, the German Austrian name is Laibach. Bratislava and Cluj-Napoca is also incorrect, their Hungarian names are respectively Pozsony and Kolozsvár.

The thing is:
I misspeled Vienna accidentaly. The names are on English bcs of that people know where are they going and simoly bcs the mod is on English. So it uses names on todays English. I know all of that and even Zagreb has not been called Zagreb but Agram. But bcs od bigger understanding its on its todays name. And names are the most irrelavant problems.

Thanks for following. Well this period isn't so controversial and it is quite interesting to many history-lovers :). Due the fact that most of our team are students, we have many school duties especially during Autumn and Spring period. So we paused developement until Christmas. But yes, our plan is to finish this mod.
