TITLE: Mass Effect: Unification v1.3, R6
DEVELOPER: Frayed Wires Studios, Marth8880
CONTACT: unification.debug@gmail.com
RELEASED: March 16th, 2017
INTRODUCTION
First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to download and install the sixth release of Mass Effect: Unification! We've got a lot in store for you in this update and we're sure you'll love it. R6 adds many new features including:
- Three new maps (Aeia, Noveria, and Europa)
- Custom HUD
- Correct-looking Scion
- New hero (Jack!)
- New player feedback systems (such as hit marker sounds, kill sounds, low health sounds)
- Revamped versions of Coruscant, Naboo, and Yavin 4
- And more!
In case you're not familiar at all with the mod, Mass Effect: Unification is a total-conversion mod for Star Wars Battlefront II that adds the Mass Effect era to Instant Action. As of this release, you can fight as the Systems Alliance, the Heretic Geth, the Collectors, or the Evolved Geth on six new custom maps, all of the stock maps, and all maps from the Sol Map Pack.
Please see the changelog for the complete list of changes.
FEATURES
- 6 new Mass Effect maps: Eden Prime, Virmire, the Prothean Skyway, Europa, Aeia, and Noveria
- Support for all stock land maps
- Support for all maps from the Sol Map Pack
- External support for a_speck_of_dust's Lotashi Z: X Province (map must be installed)
- 4 new factions accumulating 25 new unit classes
- 9 new hero classes
- Significantly improved game modes, including Conquest, 1-Flag CTF, and 2-Flag CTF
- 1 new game mode: Siege mode
- Authentic sound effects and music accurate to the Mass Effect franchise
- A massive amount of specially hand-crafted assets specifically tailored for this mod
- An external app that the player can use to tune various in-game parameters such as desired faction combination, HUD/shell style, gameplay difficulty, Shepard class, and more
MOD NOTES
- Single-player matches on all maps have random side variations and random hero classes whereas multi-player matches have a preset variation and hero class (which is specific per map).
- All maps support some combination of Conquest, 1-Flag CTF, 2-Flag CTF, and Team Deathmatch. Most maps with a large number of command posts (typically four or more) support Siege mode.
- All custom Mass Effect maps will show up in pink-colored text in the Instant Action roster.
- A new save profile called “MEU-Newcomer” is installed along with the mod; this profile is configured to enhance your playing experience with recommended game, audio, and control settings. While using the MEU-Newcomer profile obviously isn’t required, it’s most certainly recommended.
- This mod adds 50 missions to the game's runtime heap with Lotashi Z installed, or 49 missions without.
Please see the rich-text document titled Credits.rtf included with the download for the complete list of credits.
THE STORY
In summer of 2010, I played the demo for Mass Effect 2 after seeing it on Steam – I immediately then ran out and obtained a copy of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 for the PC (because console shooters are dumb). After completing the first game, I thought to myself, "Huh, certainly there must be a Mass Effect mod for Star Wars Battlefront II!" After failing to find such a mod, I completed my first map that I had been working on since February of that same year; I started working on the Sol Map Pack, released the pilot map, and in May of 2011, I started building the gargantuan project we all love and know as “Mass Effect: Unification.”

Thank You!
It's our pleasure. :)
Going to play this now!
best swbf2 mod ever
Thank you.
But should I uninstall previous versions of MEU before installing R&?
You dont need do this :)
Thanks
I mean, a fresh install of MEU is always advisory, but it shouldn't be necessary, no. With that said, if you do happen to run into any problems with it, go ahead and uninstall it and then reinstall R6.
This mods poops on the awful Mass Effect Andromeda!
>when you see the animations in Andromeda
Edgy.
I'm loving this release, however I found some bugs you might want to hear.
For some reason none of the Sol Maps are registering this new version of the game. I've freshly installed the map pack after R6 and still nothing.
Whenever my health goes into the "danger zone" and the new sounds come in (which are really nice by the way), when my health comes back stable levels the sound doesn't return either.
The music in this mod got a lot quieter for some reason.
Other than that this is a fantastic mod and thanks again!
Support for Sol maps will be restored in a tiny patch for the Sol Map Pack relatively soon.
The low health sounds (and hero music) are still being addressed and will be fixed in a patch for R6 soon.
Cool thanks for the reply!
Also one other issue I found was that the score screen at the end of every match wasn't showing the results for anyone: it was just a blank border with no names, icons, or really anything.
Interesting. In your Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\data\_lvl_pc directory, there should be a file called custom_gc_<somenumber>,lvl that's 14,456 bytes, and another file called user_script_<somenumber>.lvl that's 1,528 bytes.
I do have those installed. I've tried this with the ultimate pack installed and without it. What is really strange is that the score screen shows up when I change the font in the Ultimate Pack launcher to one other than vanilla. When I restore it back, it causes the score screen to disappear. And even without the pack installed I still get no text.
Hmm, interesting and very strange indeed. I'd be very interested to find out how exactly the Ultimate Pack injects the custom fonts into the game's runtime.
What is even weirder is that when I do choose a custom font, while the score screen does appear, broken text fragments will appear in-game in addition to the text that MEU puts into as well. For instance, when it asks if you would like to play as a hero, your text is below a jumbled broken text message of custom font. The same thing occurs whenever I kill an enemy.
Hey bro uhh Tons of Thanks for the release and is there a torrent for this? i have damn slow internet and i don't keep my computer running all night processing the download...is it okay? you might think i'm a pirate because you know.. it's a torrent but with due respect i ain't one of them argh argh *****... THank You so much if you can and sorry for being dramatic as hell i'm trying to learn english.(ya know essays at school.)
Just downloaded, So hyped to play!
Will downloading this change my HUD?
It comes with a custom HUD for MEU missions, yes. It doesn't change the stock HUD in the stock game or anything like that (like the 1.3 patch does).
There's lots of potential to this mod. Any word on if we'll ever see playable Cerberus or maybe some space action?
Yep, those are both on the wishlist on the Trello board.

Standalone means your file will install the game ready to be played or I still need SWBF2 installed?
Also, you never thought of trying to make another big conversion? I look forward if someone ever gonna try to make Warframe mod. That would be cool: Grineer, Tenno, Corpus, Infested. 4 factions, heroes, guns... would be cool :o
>Standalone means your file will install the game ready to be played or I still need SWBF2 installed?
You still need SWBF2 installed.
>Also, you never thought of trying to make another big conversion?
We have, and have one or two in planning - one of which is a Terminator mod, since I've personally felt the franchise has never received a proper video game experience.
true that
Really looking forward to trying out the mod but should I direct the installation path to my SWBF2 gamedata directory? The installer points toward program files by default which is why I'm asking.
>should I direct the installation path to my SWBF2 gamedata directory
Yes, absolutely.
is there a tutorial on how to install this as i am new to the modding scene thank you.
There sure is! Click the "Read More" button in the Description section on this download page and you'll find them there. ;)
Will there be new factions in the future, such as the Reapers, Cerberus, Blue Suns, etc?
New factions are on the wishlist, yes: Trello.com
Men tengo un problema ._.
You're going to need to be way more specific than that.
Started walkthrouth mass effect 3, now download this mod.Thank you very much, good luck in development!
I love this idea! When can we expect the Asari and/ or the Quarians (I think they should have Ship and vehicle HP regeneration and durability bonuses)?
Thanks! :)
Asari will be included in the various mercenary factions (such as Eclipse) and Quarians would probably be included in the N7 Special Forces faction, if that ever becomes a thing.
