Never use Vortex, it will cause problems in the long run, especially if you don't know what you're doing.
i have installed the mod manually from the get go. i don't use vortex, i hate the interface. the old simple manager was much better.
Vortex has been proven to work extremely reliably. But, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

For the "Performance Enhancing Mods:" video, do not uncompressed .bsa files, it will break FNV and you will need to redownload .bsa files if you did ;)
what does beta 203 suppose to be anyway?
Which mod manager is best for FNC? Especially for someone not very clued in their use. :(
Vortex is actually very good and easy to use. IDK what OP is going on about.
True, Vortex is great, didn't like at first when I compared the interface with NMM... Interface make look crappy but it works like a charm and has it's own Sorting.
I suggest you use Vortex than do manual.
Mod Organiser 2 is the best dude ;)

No, you can continue playing! But if you hit a bug or ever used console to movetoqt, it is wise to restart.
Apparently I forgot to lock the door to the cinema in the prequel. Got it in CH1 but not PQ. Damnit. Where has my test group been! XD

Oh and folks? I don't know if this helps any of you but I've found the GOG version of FO NV seems more stable than the Steam version, I have both, and did a manual install on both. I got a lot less crashes on the GOG version for some reason. Don't know why, maybe it's just me. :s
It's true. All of it. GOG is just the better version. That 4GB LAA Patch saves a loooot of trouble.

Y'know there is some "mods" on here that really push the boundaries on what is possible. I could name the Tiberium Sun Client, The Nameless Mod for Deus Ex amongst others but I certainly would add New California to this distinguished list. If Radian Helix don't win mod of the year for this then....well I don't know. All I can say is they totally deserve it.
Hey guys, you answered my feedback on the "Red White and Blood" quest by saying it's fixed in this patch, but it's still not. After you've taken the supplies from Black Bear Lodge, it still says "Maintain contact with Colonel Bragg and fulfill your mission for the Enclave" and I have no idea what to do, obviously Enclave comm link in aid doesn't work. Help :c
Go start your next quest. It's assumed you'll go explore on your own.
Hi. Is there any way for me to find which version of Mod is installed?
Thaiauxn, I D/Ld and unzipped the 203 patch, highlighted all the files, and pasted them into the data folder of my FNV folder. The result(for me, anyway), was that I was able to finally get through that first double-door by the atrium,
but then everyone in the next room talked silently(nothing audible), and the game crashed a few moments later. I have not been able to get through that first door
ever since(game crashes as before).
As for the 203 patch, does it eliminate the need to install the NVSR, ect?
Also, what mod manager would you recommend to a newbie for this FNC mod? I'm looking for a MM that can be loaded manually with the existing files I've saved on my desktop, so I don't have to spend 20+ hours D/Ldng FNC again(if it comes
down to that).

It will tell you how best to improve performance on your system. :) If we were a AAA release we'd have an exe that would scan your hardware and adjust VRAM int he ini and all that good stuff, but we're just a mod team. Gotta rely on you guys in the end.

Enjoying the game, great work by the team! Applied the 203 patch and now my game CTDs whenever I enter the pass at Elsdragon's camp. I can load a save game inside one of the buildings at the camp, but loading a save in the pass or exiting the building results in a crash.
Haha! Damnit! XD There's always something in this engine man. I'll work on it. That's my next target.

my game worked perfectly until i left vault 18, ever since then ive been getting pretty frequent crashes, which hasnt bothered me too much, but these last few hours the game has crashed constantly after like 3 minutes of playing, anyone know what the problem might be? ive tried a bunch of crash fixes and stuff like that but i cant manage to fix it
but other then that the mod is probably one of the best experiences ive had in gaming for a long while!

Ya probably have a lot on your plate in regards to bugs and such, but for some reason I can't trade items with any of the companions after the encounter w/ the raider group after sleeping in the cabin.
This was after Ben's dialogue where he recommends to change clothes due to the 18 mark on the vault suits. I don't know if this is scripted or not.
I've uninstalled any script mods such as JIP CCC and Project Nevada to see if it was fixed but i still can't trade with any of them. Any other mods I have are purely weapon textures, effect, and stability mods.
You can trade with them after you get away from the threat. Past Camper.

I followed exactly the instructions from the movie. Of course, a fresh version was installed.
When I turn on the game I have new graphics on the menu. when I click on a new game, my screen is white and not black and it does not matter if I click 1 or 2 option and so I start the game in new vegas
I have already tried all vortex and other installers, of course I have installed 203 and nothing :(
I uninstalled fallout nv, I manually deleted all entries in the registry with the word fallout deleted the directories and other files and the same help :( new instalation and old problem
I was getting frequent CTD with the 202, so I did a fresh install (Steam), 202 mod via Vortex, 4GB update, then 203 manual install.
No when I load my game, I get weird red areas, most with white cores (presumably a texture issue). And no audio on the voice acting. Any ideas?
I played a little more and it seems that the graphic glitch is actually red 3d diamond shapes surrounding a white exclamation point.

I bailed on Vortex (uninstalled completely never to reinstall). I followed the manual installation process on the YouTube link (referenced several times in this thread), and it looks like it should. still crashes to desktop every few minutes (or seconds) but that is another issue.

My game crashes every time I choose the "Path of the Scientist" Option in the beginning. "Path of the Warrior" works fine. Any idea what that could be?
You need the 4GB Patch or did not install it correctly, or you don't have a minimum 8GB RAM on your system.
Ever since installing the 203 patch I am crashing to desktop with more frequency. There doesn't seem to be a pattern but it always happens in the pass,on the road. In 2 hours of game play last night I had 6 CTD's. Before the 203 patch I would maybe crash once every 3-4 hours. Not sure what's up? Beyond that, I love it..
I really don't understand whats going on here.
I Followed the install instructions, very carefully and very specificially. There is no possible way to get "Go to your New Vegas DATA folder.

Yes to All!" all wrong. But after loading a game I see red ! marks everywhere. But I keep getting told I've installed it wrong?
You need to install 202 (the main files) first. Then apply the patch to that.
That's what I'm doing. But I still get red!'s.
Which dosnt even seem to be fixable. Once done any saves I load even with 202 restored will still have the red errors. The best I've gotten so far is to switch to Vortex. Download 202. Apy 203 through add file and load after 202. I still get the errors but only on characters.
Never use Vortex (for many people it bring more problem then solution), try Mod Organiser 2 instead (any problem for my side): Nexusmods.com
