The long, long awaited BETA is finally here! We, members of Contra Project Team, thank you for all the wait! It has been years since the last release. Many visual changes, fixed errors and balance adjustments have been made since 007.
Zero Hour version 1.04 is required!
Installation instructions: Put all files inside a clean Zero Hour directory (with no mods installed) and rename Scripts folder to Scripts1 (which is located inside Data folder).
Only one of these files must be inside your Zero Hour directory:
"!Contra008BetaRu.big" - for Russian language.
"!Contra008BetaEn.big" - for English language.
If you want to play other mods at the same time, make a copy of a clean Zero Hour and install 008 Beta in it. 008 Beta will be launched from the new folder. Other mods will be launched from the other folder.
Be aware that this is a BETA release! Bugs and imbalance are likely to be found. We already know about them. Expect them fixed in the final 008 version. We are also aware that some of you don't like the new voices (which are unfinished, though). Sit back and enjoy the BETA. Code, art and balance are subject to change in the future! If you want a stable release, then download 007.

That does not help because I can't tell if i need to uninstall the old one first because it does not say any thing about the old one
Of course, you need to uninstall the old one. The game must know which mod to launch. Put these files in a clean Zero Hour directory with no mods installed.

Ok, so I have copied all the files but where do I copie them, if I lok at the generals icon and click open file locations it takes my to a file. do I just put them in with the majotity or put in a file within? I tried putting them in the main file itself but I keep getting an error when I try and load the game.
You can't paste the files in another file. Paste them in the Zero Hour folder. Did you do that?
I think so. I selected the generals icon, and opened file location and pasted all the files in there with the rest of the other files. Then I took out the Russian language and renamed scripts to scripts1. Then I load the game and I get the first two contra banners while it is loading I get an error.
Technical Difficulties error? Do you have Zero Hour patched to version 1.04?

Ok so I installed the 1.04 patch and it loads until it says: Missing CD: Please insert the first game CD
