Description
NOTE: This demo is grossly outdated. Please keep that in mind as it is not really relevant anymore. This is a very simple, short, and limited demo. The code used is limited to HL Friendly DLLs and the game is limited to 3 training maps and five short game maps. This game has the added advantage of being capable of playing regular HL with the modified cat code... however, this is not proper game-play but an added bonus alone. Included with the demo are a couple of simple maps that can be accessed from the console as well. These maps are extras that show more of what the final project is expected to be in terms of world environments. Very few sounds have been modified and only the cat-claw model has been included from the selection of custom models. Remember, this is only a demo and is very limited.

I'm afraid I don't know what would cause that. Something could be missing, your version of HL could be different, or it could be a problem with compatibility and your system specs.
In any event, the demo is much rougher then I would have liked and will be removed entirely once we get much closer to the release. Cat-Life GS will feature a fair amount of overhauling by myself and a few others.
I have the steam half-life, is it only for that half-life thing not on steam? I forgot what it was called.
No, this mod works either with the old CD version of HL... the one that used WON, but it also works with steam. And in some ways, it seems to work better with the steam version.
Honestly, this may just be a matter of all the extra issues and files causing a problem. The overhauled mod will contain only the files you need and be arranged to work with the modified source code better.

I noticed the sketch for Newton so here is a few of my ideas for the model:
-Any weapon should be attached to the shoulders exempting the claws of course.
-Thus the weapons should be shown in 1st person in a way that it's being held by something else than the claws (i.e. a kinetic arm or whatever).
-Weapons suggestions:
group 2:
-Mini pistol (similar to glock but adapted to to the experimental HEV suit.)
group 3.
Tazer (stops foes for a second)
mini "MP5" (without the GL)
Tranquilizer (has scope and does a significant amount of damage)
group 4:
Rapid Fire Mini Rocket Launcher (RFMRL- shoots small missles at a reasonable speed.)
Shock ball ( primary shoots straight bolt of energy, alt targets automatically)
group 5
Trigger Mine (primary places a mine, alt triggers it.)
All above weapons should be scattered throughout Black Mesa in Experiment labs.
also there should be some fallen cats around to "offer" ammo.
The suit was designed for any weapons to be attached to the shoulders. But that probably won't be used in the GoldSource version of the game. In source, there would be weapons that aren't really needed to beat the game but that would make it easier and more interesting.
They would be found after completing a secret world which must be found. These would lead to a teleport back into Black Mesa into an otherwise inaccessible hidden lab with the weapon.
The weapons would be a bit more ridiculous in nature though as they aren't officially part of the story, but hidden bonuses. For instance, kitty chainsaw or the amp suit upgrade [no further comment on this one].

does this mod still work
Yeah, it works with the original Half-Life - meaning GoldSource and NOT the Source engine version.
That said, this was a simple demo - more or less a proof of concept - so it is very much incomplete.
The hope right now is that lolzzz992 can keep the team moving and get a proper beta release out with the actual maps and content.
