This is a hotfix for 0.5 beta. It directly fixes the X'treme Wars crash (caused by BrewLAN assuming the Fatboy could still build) and creates a workaround for the Total Veterency crash (caused by Total Veterency assuming all units have a defined health). It also fixes the issues with the Russian and French translations, and changes the way the T3 walls pick which turrets they can build, removing the chance of them building something too big, or not being able to build something the correct size. The only new feature is that the Absolution can go backwards.
Installation:
If you are upgrading from 0.5 you can skip the first 3 steps.
- Remove any previous versions of BrewlAN.
- Place the brewlan.scd file into the gamedata folder.
- Missing the brewlan.scd will cause missing textures for strategic icons, order buttons, and unit icons.
- Place the BrewUI folder into the mods folder. If there is no mods folder create one. Possible locations are:
- "...\Steam\SteamApps\common\supreme commander forged alliance\mods\".
- "...\Program Files\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance\mods\"
- "...\My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\mods\"
- Place the BrewLAN folder into the mods folder. Overwriting is fine if you are upgrading from 0.5.
BrewUI is non-essential, and adds all the additional field engineers to the idle engineer tabs.
If you install Battlefeel 3.5.1 after this don't allow it to add to or change the BrewLAN files; they are based on BrewLAN 0.4.4 or earlier files and will break a great number of things. If you already had Battlefeel 3.5.1 before installing this, be sure to remove the BrewLAN folder created by it.
If you are running on FAF, for best results run on the BlackOps game mode. The irony is strong with this one, but regular FAF breaks a number of things, which work on the BlackOps game mode.
Good stuff. Thanks for the Total Veterancy Fix
No problem. It was an easy fix, the hard part was diagnosing the cause.
Thanks man!!
Wow such a fast fix! Awesome :3
Thank you for your fast fix and fro covering that so quickly!
I'm having a problem with the UEF where the T2 and T3 Shields, T2 Mass and Energy Storage, and Experimental Factory have missing ground textures. They have a red and black striped 'default' texture on the ground, instead of the usually concrete-looking one. This is what I have done to try to fix the problem:
- Completely remove the mod and reinstall it, following the instructions exactly.
- Remove all other mods before use.
None of this has worked.
I thought that the issue may have been coming from a problem in the installation of BrewUI. The folder name ".svn" is not considered to be a valid folder name, and therefore won't copy - folder names cannot begin with a full-stop. I tried it without BrewUI, and still, the ground textures are missing.
No idea how to fix this. Perhaps you guys can give me some advice.
P.S. This is, for me, the most balanced and effective unit pack out there. I cannot tell you how long I have wanted to see T3 walls!
The only reason the custom tarmacs would fail to load is if it was failing to navigate to "/mods/BrewLAN/env/Common/decals/Tarmacs/..."
I can think of three possible causes:
* There is an old version of BrewLAN in one of the other mods folders overwriting the changed paths. (They used to be in the scd, but got moved into the brewlan folder. This one seems most likely because I used to have the T2&3 shield gens use custom tarmacs, but they now use default tarmacs).
* The brewlan folder isn't directly in one of the mods folders or is named incorrectly. (If this is the problem you would also encounter issues with units with shared scripts like the gates. Additionally I never actually tested the 'my documents' mods folder, so you might want to use the directory mods folder instead if you aren't.)
* The tarmacs have gone missing your end, or something is messing with them.
If none of that helps I'll need more information. Like directory locations, mod locations, if its the FAF/Steam/other version of FA, ect.
The .svn folder should't have been there anyway. Its a left over from the version control that I missed deleting when creating the download. Its existence or lack thereof wont change anything.
Hi,
I have the same issue. I only have installed BrewLAN 0.5.1, Supreme BattleFeel 3.5.1 and Sorian AI 2.1.2 in that order on a fresh Forged Alliance Steam installation.
I have a feeling the issue is caused by BattleFeel though since it does change Brewlan files... :'(
Battlefeel seems to have old versions of some of my files; I am not sure what else it's doing, but they are from before I changed where the tarmac textures were held. So they are pointing to a texture that doesn't exist anymore. I will have to do a diff check to see how much is different, and how much of that difference is important to battlefeel. Because there might be something else less obvious that it's breaking, depending on how old some of the files are.
Reinstall BrewLAN. Delete it and reinstall it. Completely. Battlefeel is basically reverting every change I did in 0.5 that wasn't an all new unit. And I have failed to find anything in there that looks like its important to the function of battlefeel.
For a comparison of how much you are losing: The Gantry script on 0.5.1 is 198 lines of code long. It is 88 lines long in those battlefeel files. I cannot even begin to guess what else doesn't work for you.
Works fine now. Thanks you! :)

System requirements?(had to log in)
Well the minimum hardware requirement is basically any Windows computer with a graphics card built in the last 7 years, and the software requirement is Forged Alliance. The game is quite processor & ram heavy though in the late game.
I got a problem with the Cybran Anti-Armor Point Defense... Sometimes when i build it, the game crashes. I use other Mods like Total Veterency, Total Mayhem and Black Ops Unleashed. Do you know what the problem could be?
I enabled all those mods and couldn't re-create the crash. Could you give me more details?
Mod of the year!
