Black Mesa Part 2.zip download

Hello everyone, just letting you know I have updated the install instructions since there is some confusion on how to compile the packages. If you can please upvote so everyone can see how to fix it.

Instructions: Once part 1 and 2 have been downloaded rename the files to include this format blackmesa.zip.001 for part one and blackmesa.zip.002 for part 2. Extract and copy files into sourcemods/BMS in your steamapps directory.

i did that, it gave me another file called blackmesa.zip .... and i cant extract this one... says "canot open it as a file"

@Henley After reading your comment and trying various other ways to get the files working I still have to ask...How do you install it?

I found a way to extract that file but :/
It says zip header broken and one file is corrupt, a sound file.

And whn i play it is all mute excpt by ambience ounds... no talks, no ground-walking ssounds, etc... :(

To install is pretty simple, Extract everything, rename the root folder to "BMS", and put it inisd the folder sourcemods from your steam folder.

Like this:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\bms

But the issue with me is that i think my files got corrupted while downloading :( Im downloading again from torrent and playerattack website since both are a single zip file...

How did you extract it, I cant get anything to work

Look for Izarc, is a file extractor just as winrar,7zip, etc. When you try to extract using it, it says : "Bad header file, continue to extract anyway?" Then you chose yes and is all done :)

My steps:
-Rename Part 1 to = blackmesa.zip.001
-Rename Part 2 to = blackmesa.zip.002
-Extracted using Izarc on file number 1 and it gave me another zip file called blackmesa.zip
-Extracted this another zip file (blackmesa.zip) using Izarc and i got the files, but with a header error and a sound file corrupt, and for some reason all the game is mute ...

I keep getting the same issues with no resolution. Wish they could have used a more conventional method honestly cause I was looking forward to playing this tonight,

i coundt play it last night.
But i left the torrent downloading the whole night and it finished by this morning ^^

i recommend you using it cause it has an installer, you just double click it and it will extrcat the files and install on th correct place automatically :)

Now is time for some nostalgia ;D

I have 7-zip, thank you for your reply, but I found out what I did wrong. Use 7-zip to extract here on all files, not one in particular, and it should work

Yes, yyou right, im glad you managed to make it work; and i really got a corrupt file, but i managed to grab the correct one and right now im at the part where you send a rocket to the space :)

Xen doesn't have boxes, it has BARRELS!!!!!

Xen part won't be redy untill some time next year.
That was taken and shorten from what I read on there main page.
So play Black Mesa untill you raech the Lambda Core and finish part one of the game and play it again on a harder difficulty.
Cause for me it's hard enough on easy, and that's saying something.

I'm getting "Windows can't open the folder" after waiting for 5 hours, what is this I don't even.

Click save as, not open. If you dont have winzip or 7-zip, you cant open these, and these programs cant open these types of zip files anyway

I'm already trying to use Desura and it's f**king up at every turn. I'm beginning to think this isn't worth it.

How do i do that? With what program?

You just need to have a custom Windows Command Script (.cmd) file that you can make yourself.

To make a custom .cmd file...
1) Open Notepad.
2) Copy the text below and paste it into Notepad.
3) Go to 'File' -> 'Save As...'
4) Click on the 'Save as type:' field and select 'All Files'.
5) In the 'File name:' window type something like 'bms.cmd' (without quotes).
6) Select folder with the two downloaded game parts and click 'Save'.
7) Open the folder and double-click on your new .cmd file.
8) Let the merge process finish and then use the newly created .zip file as normal.
