Well, BNF (The Modding group for NF) Works on a Unit Release. As the player picks what ships to put into his/her game.

Hmmm, afaik, you must give the mod a developer (by editing the mod general info)...
... or link new files, news, etc. to the mod, should work somewhat too. :-)
