MekTek.net was founded by Vince McMullin in 1999 to provide free downloadable content and tools for the Mechwarrior series. In the past MekTek.net’s developments were entirely reverse engineered because Mechwarrior3 and 4 are closed source engines. In recent times Studio MekTek was established in 2006 as a private software development studio specializing in 3D geospatial development and virtual environment replication. We are the 'corporate' front for our MekTek.net community and projects. We are also involved with several geospatial development projects for corporate and academic clients. Our community projects currently include the development of our last expansion pack for Mechwarrior4 known as MekPak4 (MP4), as well as our ongoing developments with Assault Tech1: Battletech (AT1:BT) - a ground up Mechwarrior project developed originally by Benzine Studios and Sake906, later adopted by MekTek.net, finally, development of our NP project - a cross-platform, shader ready .NET engine
