A collection of basic changes to allow for better and easier stealth.
A collection of basic changes to allow for better and easier stealth. Enemies can't see as well at night, they can't "see through walls" as well and they lose their target quicker.
Compatible with anything that doesn't change 'm_stalker.ltx', although even if it does you can manually change your file to do the same as this mod.
This is my first public mod, be gentle.
Default installation:
1) Unzip the files.
2) Move 'gamedata' to your Call of Chernobyl directory.
(If asked to replace 'm_stalker.ltx', DO NOT REPLACE IT. Make the changes manually, see manual installation instead.)
4) Done.
Manual installation:
1) Go to your game directory.
2) Open 'gamedata\configs\creatures'.
4) Open the file 'm_stalker.ltx' with a text editor.
(If m_stalker.ltx doesn't exist, simply use the default installation.)
5) Make the changes noted below.
6) Done.
Note: You can restore from the backup if needed.
Changes made:
[stalker_vision_free]
luminocity_factor = 0.70 --> 0.77
transparency_threshold = 0.6 --> 1
[stalker_vision_danger]
velocity_factor = 0.5 --> 0.65
transparency_threshold = 0.6 --> 0.8
[stalker_sound_perceive]
npc = 1 --> 0.2
Changelog:
1.1
Added a version for CoC 1.5 R6.
Added compatibility for the mod "Wounding v1.2 for Weapon Goulash".
Works well good job :)
Thanks! <3
do you know if this is dead air compat
Haven't tested it myself so I don't know, sorry.
Pretty good. It drives me mad how even the zombies somehow had the ability to spot me in complete darkness while I could barely even notice their silhouette with night vision.
I just wanted to say that this small addon doesn't change vision parameters for zombified stalkers.
Right you are.
Well that's unfortunate. I had to manually change their parameters. I made them almost blind as they should me. Based on CoP, they don't attack unless you aggro them. So I made them only attack when you're like 3 meters away. Also added 99 dispersion to them.
i know it's been over 5 years since you commented it but, can you share these specific data, fellow stalker?
you are helping. thanks. how could zombies be sharpshooters from a hundred yards out anyhow good job.
This addon doesn't change accuracy parameters even for normal stalkers.
Also vision parameters for zombified stalkers aren't changed.
Is this compatible with Anomaly?
Possibly, I haven't used Anomaly so I don't know.
Thanks brother for this mod,it works just great with 1.4.2.2
Can you make it for 1.5 And weapon goulash with wounding?
Sure, I can give it a try.
Edit: Should work now, added a version for it.
You are live saver 1+like
And one suggestion,pls add a video of demonstration about this mod :)
When I have a bit more time I'll try and get some recordings :)
i hope its compatible with my modpack
I can finally hide behind walls :D
Is there anyway to make it so that they can notice enemies without them having to be in front of them? I think it's pretty dumb that, for example, Duty and Freedom can be having a gunfight and their comrades a few feet away do not get involved simply because they are facing away. I have a feeling it's bad AI and a limitation that can't be fixed sadly.
I personally don't know how to fix it, not without making all the AI omniscient anyway.
Wait, I just thought of something. The smoke grenade when it detonates grabs the attention of all nearby NPCs. Perhaps you or someone else could script something where gunfire will trigger this same affect. Which would actually be an AWESOME realism mod as well. Think about it, normally in game if you decide to fire your gun a few times at a wall to test it out the stalkers and other NPCs around you don't care. They act like it's not a disturbance. Now imagine that with the idea I have just presented. Firing a weapon in say... 100 Rads bar; would result in everyone in there going ape **** and freaking out and pulling out their guns to make sure you're not a threat. They don't go hostile, they just go in a defensive and observant stance.
I mean, I'd be pretty ****** if I just came back from my artifact hunt only to have some jackass decide to wants to fire a ******* rifle in an enclosed space and blow out my eardrums. It would totally bother people around you. I think you should attempt it, it's likely easier than you think.
I'm thinking two things should trigger this. If a bullet lands near them, or if a gun is simply fired within earshot. This should force their AI to investigate their surrounding and become aware of nearby threats.
