I like this very much.

If I may chip in, I'd suggest an alternative method for accessing parts from your stashes, purely on the account that some (possibly quite a lot of) people play with a very fun addon that allows travelling npcs to loot, fairly, your carelessly unconcealed stashes just as you loot others, which, having one set up 10m from a local mechanics, will most likely ending up busted pretty quick.

I find that the level of grindy busywork that Anomaly brings by default rather tedious and boring and welcome mechanics that smartly streamline things and enhance fun aspects while reducing the tedium of realism taken a bit too literally. Too much quantity, too little quality.

My suggestion would be that you simply allow access to parts present in ANY of your stashes, full stop.
If you hid your stashes well, the parts will be there and you can access. If you did a sloppy job, they may start disappearing bit by bit, and that's on you.

I don't think it would work if the stashes aren't rendered. You couldn't use a stash that is in garbage while being in yanov without some script magic.

bummer. how about limiting to stashes within the same map?

Or, speaking of the npc looting addon - it adds it's own, universal and paid for lockers in bases. Perhaps whatever is in the locker could be utilised?

Just spinning ideas, as I would love to tap into this mods functionality in a somewhat more universal way.

I could work on a compatibility patch that looks for those specific paid stashes by name, on the same level, and allows them as well. I put a range restriction in because it felt weird to instantly grab parts from the complete other side of the level, but ultimately I want that to be player choice.

I wouldn't worry about absolute realism. I find that best games find a good middle ground between what's realistic and what works best for games - Metro Exodus was a surprisingly good example of finding great balance between simplicity and depth, open-world and linearity. There's way too much busy work in anomaly already for my taste and if you pay for those stashes in bases (where your stuff is safe from looters but costs a renting fee) it may as well automatically work for repairs being counted as part of the same base setup and saving you further micromanagement chores.

The mod probably doesn't open the exact workbench script, since the base script also includes code checking if the owner has the toolkits. If you're comfortable with modding, feel free to diff my script against the base game to see what I changed.

Okay, you're a genius. You replaced all the db.actor things with your stash_range variant, which means instead of the game looking for inventory to see if you have toolkits, it will look for stashes that are in range (predefined 10)

Lol. There are so many stashes in every level. I had a variant that iterated all of them and it definitely could cause a slowdown. If you're taking an fps hit, be careful what you're doing in any Update methods. They get called almost every frame.

Can you make test-stash support? I'm using a mod that allows you to access a test stash by clicking on the appropriate item in your inventory. Put things in there and take them out when I need it, anytime, anywhere, a kind of portable stash.

Here, I uploaded the mod to the file hosting:

The mod uses the vanilla "bind_container.script". Take this item in the debug menu, it is in the category of backpacks. Click on it with the right mouse button. The first time the container will not open, but the inventory will simply close, you will have to click on it again. Here on the site there is a similar mod, in it you right-click on the backpack and select "open backpack" in the context menu. It uses the vanilla "bind_container.script" too. Of course, I would rather provide a link to it, only I forgot the name of this mod.

It seems the add-on blocks any intent of crafting ammo, no matter if you got the gunsmithing tools in your backpack or in a nearby stash. I can't talk about the drug making kit, but everything else seems to be working perfeclty.

I used the deployable crafting bench in GAMMA (I only see 3 conflicts, I don't think that is the issue?) and it picked up the items in the crafting bench's stash and wouldn't let me access the workbench feature nor the stash of the workbench anymore.

Someone found a bug that was causing it to not count crafting tools in the player inventory. I'll be uploading a fixed version soon. Sorry for not reading comments for a while!

Hi. mod is good. everything works except for crafting ammo. writes that there are no tools for ammo. tried to take myself, tried to put in a stash next to the workbench = SHOULD NOT BE THAT TOOLS. otherwise, everything works. when to expect a fix?

У меня тоже такая же проблема и этот мод установлен.

The mod structure changed. If you installed my mod manually, delete the "ui_workshop.script" file. It is no longer used.

I really recommend using a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 so that updates don't leave old files lying around.

If you're using other workshop mods, just don't use mine right now. I'm working on compatibility.
