Hello, everyone.

I'm pleased to have finally released this mod for you all to download and play with.

If you have any questions, I made a post about this mod earlier this month (10/03/2023): Moddb.com

I hope this helps. :)

Made a quick test, love the fact that you removed the original weapons ! I think i'll make a build with old NPCs models and EOC !

There is something i don't really get, how are you supposed to upgrade weapons ? There is no dialog available at mechanic's, except the ones for the toolkits.

EDIT : nvm, i get it, you "just" need enough money !

Speak to any of the technicians while you have anything above 1,000 RU, while holding the desired weapon that you wish to upgrade, to be given the option to upgrade the weapon that you want. Only a set selection of weapons can be upgraded, but the most common ones (SVT-40, Grease Gun, S&W Model 10, M1928A1 Thompson, etc.) are always available to upgrade.

Prior to releasing this mod, I did reflect on how well the upgrade system is communicated to players. I'm going to release the design document for this mod shortly and add it to the description, including all of the prices for item upgrades and upgradeable weapons. That'll be useful until I can make a patch to communicate these to players in-game.

I'll shoot you a reply once I've released the design document.

Hello again.

I've released the design document and added a link to it in the mod description. It has all of the upgrade info, though I've not included anything about the mod's Signature weapons as to not spoil them. I'll still publish that info separately if requested.

World War II Weapons Pack Design Document (CoC): Moddb.com

I hope this helps. In the meantime, I'm planning on adding an optional patch to this mod where technicians have dialog to give upgrade prices to players. :)

Hi, all.

I've patched the mod. The core files remain unchanged, but downloading this mod again will greet you with an extra folder marked "1st_april_patch_2023".

The patch works with existing saves and brushes up on a few text strings as well as giving technicians dialog for upgrade options and prices. I've made a post of it here: Twitter.com

Happy hunting, stalkers. :)

does it work with any other weapon mod like STCoP?

It doesn't, unfortunately.

Does this completely replace the available weapons in vanilla CoC, or does it supplement them?

It completely replaces the weapons in vanilla CoC.

If any weapons that aren't part of this mod are acquired in-game while this mod is installed, the game simply scraps them into parts that can be sold to technicians.

UPDATE (18/04/2023): added an extra patch, "arisaka_fix", which fixes the Arisaka's firing sound. Patch included with all new downloads of this mod.

Enjoy, stalkers. :)

Quick weapon positions hotfix. Patches the bolts and detectors to have a seamless transition without snapping from one position to another when equipped/holstered.

does this work with armor mods such as Outfit Addon?

It's not compatible with CoC's Outfit Addon. However, anyone is free to release a compatibility patch for this weapon mod and the Outfit Addon if they wish to do so.

Go for it! I'd be happy to take a look at your mod pack once it's finished.

I'm pleased that my mod has caught your interest. I've included all of the credits to all of the mods used in the readme file that are also available to use with your mod pack.

Happy modding, stalker! :)

Some issues i have with the mod
Traders should take all weapon parts of a kind and then pay you out - this one by one step is just tedious.
Also if i deliver Tool Sets to technicans the game crashes , for me at least
weapons should be upgraded via npc menu and not per dialogue
Mod file arctitecture could be a bit cleaned up imo

Hello there. Thank you for your feedback. I've taken a look at your suggestions you have left here.

"Traders should take all weapon parts of a kind and then pay you out - this one by one step is just tedious."
- I agree with this. Turning in the weapon parts one by one is quite tedious, being more of a problem for those who have loads of them in their inventory. At the time of me making this mod, I did experiment with a system that would take multiple and all weapons parts from the player, though this had often resulted in the game somehow disregarding how many weapon parts the player has and taking all of them, even if the player had only a few of them (i.e. scripting the mod to take 50 weapon parts will treat the player as if they have 50 weapon parts, even if they don't). As of late, I've been unable to find a way to ensure that the mod can count how many weapon parts the player has, but I will try to update this mod in the case that I do find one that is a lot less tedious.
EDIT: I might be onto something, maybe I could write up a script that lets players turn in toolkits like how some traders take PDAs.

"Also if i deliver Tool Sets to technicans the game crashes , for me at least"
- Speaking of toolkits, I've done a quick test on my end and found no crashes. Which technicians did you visit that caused the crash? Did it say anything in the crash log (if any)? Regardless of what's in the crash log, if you're able to post the entire part of the log below where it says "stack trace:", I might be able to diagnose the issue. I didn't encounter this in testing, oddly enough. Another thing to take into account is if you're using any other mods while playing.

"weapons should be upgraded via npc menu and not per dialogue"
- I agree with you on that, though editing upgrade trees directly is a slight gap in my knowledge of modding the game. In turn, it allowed me to come up with the variants system in this mod (i.e. Standard, Upgraded and Signature weapons) as I had only edited two specific upgrades to give this effect on all Upgraded and Signature weapons in-game. Back to your point, I did go for an approach similar to Shadow of Chernobyl's upgraded weapons that can be found in the game world (upgrades are a bit one-dimensional and basic, but are different enough). The only exception is that I didn't want to put players through finding them out in the Zone. As for upgrading them through the NPC menu rather than dialog, I'll look into putting this into the mod once I revisit it.

"Mod file arctitecture could be a bit cleaned up imo"
- I'm quite guilty there. The files do have a lot of leftovers and do need to be cleaned up a bit. I'll make sure to delete any irrelevant stuff once I come back to it.

Do let me know if you have any suggestions or need anything else. Until then, happy hunting, stalker. :)

Looking forward on this mod , shows a lot of promise so far , visited the upgrade npc at Clear sky Camp - maybe some buggy files on my side gonna redownload CoC and try again
also i found that npcs often have issue aiming , military at least with the svt40 or what they got there , shots often miss by a mile
Also it would be nice if you start a new game that you give the player at least a knife or some starter weapon and some bullets or some cash , everything i started with was turned into scrap parts

UPDATE (19/05/2023): Added some additional fixes, including an all-in-one installation of the mod with all fixes included in the download (hence the increased file size). Updated mod's description and readme.txt file to reflect this.

Also fixed a pesky error with the arisaka fix. Tested it today and it should be all working now. :)

FIX (04/02/2024): Buffed the Model 1897 (Winchester Model 1897 "Trench Gun") and the Model 21 (Winchester Model 21 double-barrel shotgun) as they were underpowered. Fix only added to the fully-fixed version (enclosed in the download folder, as labelled).

Also slightly increased the size of the Model 70 (Winchester Model 70) sniper rifle so it properly fits in the player's hands (first-person only).
