The Battlefield 2-modification "Battlefield: Korea" deals with the Korean War (1950 - 1953), which is also known as the "Forgotten War".

Hello everybody! Back by popular demand the Battlefield: Korea mod is now back in action! We have a dedicated team of modders getting this mod up to tip top shape.

Right now, we already have the mod creator Zefan, back in a limited amount when he can find some free time from his busy schedule. We also have one of the original animators chad509 back with the mod and is currently getting a few weapons finished up for us.

We would also like to take this time to announce we are currently looking for help with the mod. Thus far, 3 newcomers have been helping out where they can. nadvgia has been helping to port a lot of vehicle assets over to the mod. Barbarossa41 has been porting over various weapons and vehicles from other mods as well. 3===SPECTER===3, a member from the PR forums has already started helping out with re-texturing borrowed assets from other mods we have permission from so they fit in the Korean war era.

So far this project has been back on the drawing board for about a month now, and so we are still trying to get many loose ends fixed up before we have more to show.

Think of this news post more or less as a conformation that this project is NOT dead at all, and we have people on board whom know what they are doing. So all in all, this project is in good hands.

If you, or anybody you know could help out this awesome Cold War mod, please contact Anthony817.

We are currently looking for:

  • Dedicated mappers
  • Texture Artist
  • 3D Modelers
  • Vehicle\Weapon Coders
  • Animators
  • Korean voice actors
  • Character modelers\Rigging
  • Any other help anybody can provide

Glad to see the mod continued, it had (I guess it's "has" now) so much potential.

Welcome back guys! So excited!
May I ask, are you considering turning this into a more 'realistic' mod?

Im thinking something like Project Reality BF2. Maybe even incorporate the things you already made into PR? THAT would be awesome, cheers and good luck.

Well, at first we were thinking about merging with PR, but after much talk with the rest of the team members most people agree we should release as an independent mod. The main thing people kept bring up was about loosing what makes the mod stand out and our identity, the HUD, the menus and our vision of the mod are a bit different from PR standards.

We will strive to be historically accurate and have good balanced gameplay. So you don't have to worry too much. ;)

Awesome, you should consider though the biggest plus and most important thing; Players. People still play BF2 because of PR, the game itself and other mods are dead. PR gets 500 players easily on weekends.

Goodluck!

It is still an option, but we wanted to be able to have a formal official first release of the mod consistant with our vision of how hard core it should be. We have 1 big thing in common with PR, our tanks require full crews to operate them.

Also, our weapons will be more realistic than standard BF2 weapons for sure. For instance a rifle will be able to kill with a well placed shot.

Some things we differ on with how we want the mod to be played. Think of the realism as somewhere between PR and FH2 and you will get a good idea of what our vision is for the mod.
