Introduction to a new feature, GORE. Something I've been wanting to implement for a while, but not even considered until recently; a simple system for making the game more visceral and intense. Featuring several death types, soldier bleeding and sound effects for different death animations; the new system has been implemented successfully on almost all GDI and Nod infantry.

Brutal KW + Tiberian Dawn Infantry showcase

In the video above is a showcase of the new gore system and a preview of the new "Tiberian Dawn" infantry for GDI. Featuring classic voice lines (GDI Minigunner and Rocket Soldier have the same voice, Grenadier has a higher pitched voice, like classic C&C), weapon rebalances with classic sound effects, functionally similar gameplay usages to their classic counterparts. (Minigunner Squads do higher damage than GDI riflemen and cost 400cr, Rocket Soldiers fire faster rockets than Missile Squads with different graphics, slightly higher splash damage and come at a higher cost, 500cr; Grenadiers lose their effectiveness vs infantry, but gain in anti-vehicle firepower)

Shown in the video is "infantry bleeding", "poisoned deaths" (from tiberium / visceroids and radiation) and explosive deaths (from cannon / rocket fire) as well as standard deaths.

Further "Brutality", Marked of Kane changes

In the 2nd video, we see the work-in-progress changes to the Nod Militant Squad, of which now has Tiberian Sun infantry voicelines, new rocket firing sounds, faster (but inaccurate) rockets and a faster rate of fire; costing 500 credits a squad.

We also see the new "burned" death animation, which is usually seen on high powered lasers (lesser lasers don't cause this) and causes the poor infantry unit to burst into smoldering ashes.

Though previewed here on a smaller scale, the new effects system can be extremely brutal in large battles; large battles with infantry will never be the same again. ;)

Scrin Rebalances:

Lastly, for smaller changes: Scrin has seen a few small changes, mainly involving disintegrators and Gun Walkers. Gun Walker plasma autocannon has been slightly nerfed so that it doesn't instant kill most infantry types and it now costs slightly less, shard walker has also seen a small nerf and has been brought down to 700 credits.

Disintegrators have had fairly large changes, they have a much larger range, deal more damage... but infantry now have a "damage resistance" to disintegrator lasers and the disintegrators fire slower.

This in turn makes disintegrators into more of a skilled unit, rather than one you simply rely on spamming in order to defeat enemies; it makes them harder to kite at the expense of their effectiveness vs infantry at close range.

Finally: The sharp-eyed may notice that blood pools have a short fade-in time in the video, this will be removed from the final build; it was simply from my playing around with the fade-in peak settings for the decals. :D

Its essentially a heavily modified version of a Tiberium Wars mod's gore system from 2009, Middle Eastern Crisis I think its called.

Since the poisoned and burned deaths were broken (and even the explosive deaths looked fairly glitchy, spawning green blood occasionally with red gore) I worked on it and brought it over to Kane's Wrath, giving it the Quake 3 SFX (still my favourite "splatter" sound xD) at the same time. :)

I plan on adding possibly a few more balances / tweaks and maybe an additional unit, not sure yet, as well as some more music that I have in mind, then I'll release it.

Not sure how long that will take though. ^^'
