After a long week, we have returned in full strength. The site may have been down, but that did not meant development had stopped. 1.2 had its first few tests during the downtime. BunkerHill was tested along with Render's version of BattleField. Both played well. The code is looking up. Almost all major 1.1 bugs are gone. Now only a few new bugs are present. 1.2 is getting closer and closer to being feature complete and going out to testers as a Release Candidate. Below are some screenshots of different objects that will be present in 1.2.
The first is an ammo box. This will allow players to gain ammo for their gun after they have run out, which was a major annoyance people had with the releases so far. Next, you can see some work in progress trees by BlackPanther, which prevent some of the sparse trees that were present in 1.1. Finally, you can see the flag models for capture points. From 1.2 onwards the flags at capture points will change according to the holding team.
We have also introduced a mailing list. People can sign up to this list and get the latest news in their inbox before it is released on the site. You can sign up here.
Some of you may have noticed the forums have changed yet again. During the downtime, the database was corrupted and we have had to revert to one of my backups, which date back to the 12th of April. This backup was on IPB not vB. We were planning to revert to IPB before the downtime, but the lack of the database after the site came back up, hurried our plans along. We apologise for all accounts, topics, posts, private messages, and polls, which were lost due to the downtime. The forums and site are now running with the same level of content and activeness as before the downtime.
1.2 is on its way, stay with us and be prepared to see great improvements!
