Greetings!

Our efforts to overhaul the models of various GLA vehicles continues. Since the in-game GLA faction does not represent the standardised armed forces of any fully industrialised state, we found it appropriate to further diversify their visual appearance with a number of variants much like the Technical in order to put some more emphasis on their theme of customisation and salvaging. Take a look at the new Quad Cannons, Scorpions and Marauders. We would also like to point out that we are officially re-adding the original Scorpion tank since we've come to the conclusion that changing it to the Centurion robbed us of an iconic GLA unit that, admittedly, always had more character and charm than the vehicle that replaced it.

Finally, we'd like to conclude today's update with a little reminder for all of you that on Sunday next week we will be starting our official live streams in cooperation with Hecthor Doomhammer. Be sure to follow his channel and you will receive an email when the live stream starts!

I hope someone gets it as a Scorpion tank replacement. Perhaps as the Toxin tank or an advanced tank (with a bit more hp or damage or range or whatever) for a more brute force general.

Meh, I honestly think it should just go bye bye, I personally did not like it. The original scorpion tank was much more GLA than the Cheetah scorpion. Even brute force general should not get it.

I'm wondering, when two team members work on a model what do you work on respectively?

in that case Hunter made the basic model, and Comr4de/I made the things that are different on the variants.

In the case of the Quad Cannons, I worked on the front cabins and Hunter worked on the flatbeds. Minor thing really since we considered just replacing the cabin but ended up adding the variants to the flatbeds last second before the update (and I was away at the time so Hunter made those changes himself). Hurray for the wonders of development!

Awesome update! Love the new Marauder and Quad Cannon designs, but I'm afraid I have an issue with the Scorpion.

Don't get me wrong, the new Scorpions look awesome, but I greatly prefer the Centurion because, frankly, the original Generals Scorpion design would be completely and utterly hopeless against most modern IFV's and anti-tank infantry, never mind a modern main battle tank. While the Centurion is, of course, no match for modern armour, it at least represents a well-known design that was highly effective in its time and could still potentially be viable if used skillfully.

Plus, since the GLA are masters of stealth and covert theft, they should, with relative ease, be able to steal large numbers of Centurions, T-55's, M48 Pattons and other Cold War era tanks which are either sitting in military warehouses or still in service with various Third-world nations. These tanks, although obsolete be Western standards, could still be effective through a combination of highly-skilled usage and really good luck, both of which the GLA seems to have a ample supply of. :P

Thoughts?

*an ample supply

Plus, those tanks would simply be far more effective than anything which could possibly be created out of scrap by a bunch of guys in a car garage.

That is, unless the home-made Scorpion was clearly shown to have some advanced design features or unique innovations which could offset its disadvantages.

Just my 2 cents. What are your thoughts on this?

1) rule of cool
2) I think we need to see it in action before we judge. This is not a ww2 tank after all (it just looks like one) it is made with modern, 21st century parts.
3) It is most likely faster, easier to get, and cheaper then any of thouse cold war tanks.
