Well just to let everyone know. on Dec. 22, 2003 Hostile Intent was released to the HL community. Here are some words from the Dev Leader Charles about the mod and some common things said to us post release and what we will be working on first.

Well, the release to the public was the best thing we could have done. Sure, we could have waited another month or so to fix the most serious bugs but that month would have turned into 2 months and then 3 and so on till we announced we were moving production over to Half~Life 2.
I dont think you would have wanted that, eh?

I also want to thank you all for trying out the game and enjoying it so much.
Hostile Intent has always been more of a community project then one that was built by a small core team of developers and I think it has really help us greatly.
Now our community is stronger and larger and already we have had a lot of serious offers for help.
Stick with the community and stick with the game and we will help each other out to make Hostile Intent the best free and independently build game it can be!

And now we have a bug hunting update.

-The Telefragging that raised its ugly head is being fixed right now. We believe we know the problem and the maps are being recompiled. We want to get this fix out by Saturday.
Other issues:
-Models sliding when running/walking/prone (speed adjustment in animation and slower prone)
-Models Origins/Hitboxes Players float 2-5 inches off the ground, grenades are worse.
-Animations lacking, code in the animations we have already. (get down to prone, get up from prone, etc)
-Prone getting players stuck

These are the first 5 bugs we will be squashing and the team is motivated to fix these and the others.
Saturday you will, by the grace of the Video Game Gods, see the telafragging issue sorted out. There may be other bug fixes as well but the telefragging will be released as soon as it is complete and working. We will not wait on the other fixes and hold this bad bug up.

In other news we are always looking for more talent.
Our main modeler, Black Panther, is under a lot of stress and has a workload that will break a horses back.
We are in the market for a modeler who can ANIMATE as well.
Some duties that you will work with Black Panther on are:
-redoing all the V models
-correcting some player model errors
-working with BP on environmental models
-perhaps new hands…we need new hands

To apply the easiest way would be to add a comment to this post. Post URLs to your work be they images and or movie reels. Post all relevant experence you have had as well.
Thank you.

Also id like to remind everyone that we have an awsome game box contest going on in the art forums. I have left the final submission date open because we have so many new people on the forums now. check it out HERE.

That about sums up this update and what we are trying to accomplish.

In coming updates look forward to sniper sprites fixed, the VGUI art being added, a manual and other such good things!
