Our fourth press release, this time we show a lot of new models

Posted by on

Hello Coh - Modern Combat fans!

At first we, the CoH - Modern Combat team, want to apologize for such a long period without information. But we haven't been inactive. The coding of the core game is almost done and our modelers are working hard.

While we are working on getting our first models in-game, we thought this might be a good time to show you some of our results. We are making good progress with the import and are looking forward to show you some moving pictures within the next weeks. Talking about the models, we are still searching for potent people, who can help us to reveal all the secrets of the objects editor. We are also always searching for more modelers and especially skinners, who help out texturing all of our models. If you are interested in helping us, contact me, or just apply in our application topic.

But coming to the interesting stuff now. After we showed you the non-doctrinal outline of CoH - Modern Combat in our last press release, we are eagerly awaiting your reactions about our new models. If things go well, we hope that we can show you some moving pictures the next time!

Maybe they could be a call in, like for a strafing run or some such. Helicopters are a large part of modern warfare, so not including them at all would seem a little strange.
Anyway, the models are looking good. Keep it up!

Watching. Looks like a killer mod. A tank battle between US and China would be epic on the CoH engine.

Edit: I think the Helicopter would be a call-in like the PanzerKnackers for Luftwaffe in Panzer Elite. It would attack all armour in the area for a curtain time.

dude dont put in helicopters like as controlled units CoH was fun because tanks were a biiiiig deal and it was based more around infantry. helicopters would epically ruin the game

Don't worry guys. We are not going to use helicopters as controlable units. Like others have guessed, we will use them for off map abilities like the strafing run, bombing run, panzerknacker, etc.

Well, maybe helos can be a call in unit, like the calliope. Also, they should have to be upgraded to either anti-infantry or anti-tank.

I played a really great mod where they did that. The helos took immense amounts of time to build, and then they get upgraded with either rockets (anti-tank and anti-building) or cannon (anti-infantry and anti-aircraft). After they were upgraded, there was no turning back. They should do things like that.

I've been waiting for a mod like this for COH for too long. I remember playing battlefield 1942 with the "Desert Combat" mod that came out sometime after, and it made that game last much longer than it would have otherwise. While stationed in Iraq for 14 months, I had all my friends burning the new updates for it back home and sending them to me when they came out just so I could keep playing it on my laptop during down time, lol.
I'll be the first to tell you that what you guys do for games is phenominal. There are so many games out there that are created on the idea that older is better, but there comes a point when there are just too many. Since 'most' of us gamers are of a younger generation I thought maybe I would see more modern combat games. The first thing I thought of when I first installed COH was how great this game could be if it was made in a more modern venue. Not that it takes away from how great this game is regardless, but I think an RTS game with a modern combat or even a vietnam theme would be spectacular. C&C: Generals was close but wouldn't even scratch the surface of how great this mod will be.
Anyway, just tonight I thought about that mod for BF1942 and thought maybe by some grace of god someone out there was making one for COH, and I came across this site. I'm usually not the type to signup on forums but after finding that this mod is in the works, I had to let you guys know that it truely takes some motivation to make a mod of this magnitude and that it doesn't go unnoticed. Looking forward to seeing your hard work pay off. Bravo.

That's a quite promising mod, and anticipated one, that's for sure. I think i'll keep my eyes on it.
I do not really like your models however. Mortar carrier and Chinese amphibious vehicles look satisfying, but the rest of the batch needs attention. I do not do these things anymore, but i still could teach your modeler/texturer some tricks.
