Hola now because Ben got the new news posting system working I can post news again as well.
The readers of my dev diary already knew about it, most others don't I assume. My Particle Egnine is now almost finished. There is a new entity available to mappers called env_ParticleEmitter. With this little piece, you can do all the volumetric effects you can imagine and the best is, thats its visually up to date. This means, it has the same potential from the code side as UT2k3's or HL2's particles have. The particles are fully animateable like sprites, but they support an 8 bit alpha channel as well, which HL1 can't do by default. The method also keeps 24bits for awesome colors as well.

Its good work, even if HL2 comes out soon. Its a long time untill we will see any good mods.
lol hl2 dont even work yet.... with all this steam garbage your going to have to download the entire game from places like fileplanet every time they release an update.
