Well, this mod has suffered a slight setback, but nothing that will bring it grinding to a halt, keeling over in death throes. I have been stricken by the Seagate 7000.11 bug: The hard drive is stuck in the BSY state, rendering it a total brick until it can be repaired. Bad news: Until it does get repaired, I cannot contiue work on the city map I have recently been showing screens of. Good news: The entire mod was not on that HDD. See below for more GOOD news!

Good news: Power Distribution, the first map, was not on that HDD. It is A-OK on my backup drive, which I am running on now. Ive also backed up all the mod files on this drive to USB sticks to prevent any further catastrophe. So, the Mod has only lost one level - and not permanently. There are two methods of repair, one is a little more technical but a lot cheaper than the other option. I can either A) purchase another HDD with the exact same board on it, or B) send off for an adapter and follow some mildly complicated instructions to un-brick the HDD.

Either way, its just a minor setback. The entire Mod is not lost, and work continues slowly on the first level as it nears completion.

I apologize for not updating the status of this mod sooner; its been a while. Rest assured, it is most certainly not dead not dying.

Good thing your at least wise enough to back up your work ! So many people painfully lose theirs from the failure to do so.

Dammit Kevin, get crackin! I want to play this. And YES, I created an account here just to harass you a little bit. What do you expect when six inches of snow shuts the city and the jobsite down for 2 or 3 days.

Yeah, I guess my actions might be slightly predictable considering the fact that I am a sarcastic ***. haha, but what can you do?

P.S. The first thing that I learned in my very first editing course is 'if you don't have it saved in at least 3 places, you don't have it saved at all'.

A very good philosophy indeed. And by all rights I should have known that by now :( Still have to get that 3rd save, but at least I did keep things spread out. (kinda by sloppiness though, not exactly intentional)

Gotta dig out my original Hitachi HDD now and do backup #3! I knew there would be a good reason to keep a 130GB 5 year old hard drive around. Wait - thats probably not reliable either hahaha!
