Preview of the new content for one of the nations on which the upcoming DoD patch will be focused - the Timurtash Empire, once the dynasty that ruled over all of Iran but now on the verge of collapse.

The main focus of the upcoming Divergences update will be content for the Middle East, including the Timurtash Empire, the last of the main players in Iran that hadn't recieved a content pack yet.

The Timurtash are a dynasty with Turkmen origins that rose to power amidst the chaos that engulfed Transoxiana after the death of Shah Rukh in 1447. In this timeline, they were the dynasty that re-unified Iran from the crumbling remains of the Aq Qoyunlu and Timurid Empires - only unlike the Safavids in our reality, this was a process of Westward rather than Eastward expansion, and Herat would remain the capital of the Empire until the start of the game in 1836. An ingame event goes into more detail about their origins:

The origins of the Timurtash Empire

By 1836, the Timurtash Empire has been reduced to a rump state in Khorasan. Decades of war in the Caucasus against the Ottoman Empire stretched the resources of the Timurtash state thin, and the coup-de-grace came from the strategic rear of the Empire: Transoxiana, the richest and traditionally considered to be the safest region of the Timurtash realm, was invaded and conquered by the Dzunghar Oirats.

The Timurtash Empire is increasingly ungovernable due to the large autonomy of the landed magnates, the Dehqans, who are starting to act independently. The early game content of the Timurtash Emprie will be focused on reigning in the Dehqans and abolishing their privileges. Revoking their rights is going to increase their unrest, and unless your legitimacy is high enough the military governors of Khorasan will revolt.

Legitimacy is a new mechanic introduced for the Timurtash Empire. You gain legitimacy by reconquering the great cities of Iran and the capitals of your rivals for the Iranian trhone: Tabriz, Isfahan, Shiraz, Lahijan and Bukhara.

Conquering cities in Iran will increase your legitimacy +1

Conversely, losing any of those provinces will decrease your legitimacy.

Losing cities in Iran is going to decrease your legitimacy -1

Here are two examples of decisions you can take to centralise the Empire, increasing Dehqan unrest:

End Idris Timurtash' de-facto rebellion

Abolish hereditary tax immunities for the Timurtash Officer Corps

If the Dehqan unrest is higher than 4, and your legitimacy is lower than 5, the Dehqan revolt will trigger.

Romania has an Irredentism decision that requires Jingoism, but not jingoist party. Could a fix for this be included in a future update please?

Their Communist and Fascist parties already have Jingoism, but I can give it to the reactionaries as well, no problem
