Entropy : Zero 2's development is entering a paused state.
I know that this probably isn't something you wanted to hear, but from the start I have promised my followers to be open about my development.
A while ago before I decided to start working with EZ2, I made a rather long post explaining my situation as a hobbyist developer. At the time I eventually came to the conclusion that the demand for EZ2 was high enough to consider building it, and so I began to develop it alongside another personal project of my own.
Over the last month, EZ2's narrative took a dramatic turn - which may or may not be finalized - but the truth is my other project is starting to consume the time that I have to focus on the mod. And because this project will (hopefully) eventually pay the bills, I'm starting to see it as being more productive to work on.
My view is not one of greed but rather one of necessity. I explained very briefly the woes of being a young parent in the UK in my last post on the EZ page. If I have the skills to pay the bills I should be using them to do so, to ease the strain and ultimately work towards a better future for us.
It is not a sob story. I do not want your money. It is life - and I'm simply choosing now to adapt and to step out of the realm of modding, and attempt to walk into the role of an independent developer. I am confident that I will be able to fulfill this position, in light of my success at organizing, planning, developing, releasing and supporting Entropy : Zero.
Entropy : Zero will be a year old on the 10th of October - and it won't be forgotten by me. I'm planning on delivering something for that date to celebrate the mod. That could be a big long write-up regarding my experience developing with Source, an AMA, a video, or even some kind of small update. It will all depend on how quickly things move with this new thing I've got going on.
Ultimately, I would like to get back to Bad Cop just as soon as my situation improves. For now though I'm most definitely going to be pausing the development of the mod. My apologies!
Keep your eyes peeled around October for news on EZ1's first birthday.
Thanks for your understanding!
Don't worry. There are priorities in life so it's understandable. Good luck!
Take your time. The true fans can wait as long as possible.
Focus first on putting effort into your personal project, Entropy: Zero 2 can wait.
Take your time, dude. We understand.
I mean, I don't think any of us expected you to release Entropy Zero 2 right away, so as everyone else said, take as much time as you need :)
dude take your time :D
When I played the first game I was amazed by how well it's made. As for the sequel development taking a hiatus, I understand and want to say to take your time. I'm a very patient person so I can wait.
