The current state of the mod with specifics on the Version 2.0 release.

Greetings all,

In this developer blog, I wish to go over the current progress of this project. As it stands now, we are on the eve of the Version 2.0 release. But first, let me cover some necessary housekeeping items.

First of all the Dei Agminum development team has just taken on two new team members. Darknight36 and Barbarus have come on board as the mod’s historians. They are helping me with historical research, unit rosters, ancillaries, scripting, and creating campaign events. I am immensely grateful for their help and support.

Secondly, I’ve put up our Discord. Join me and the team there to chat about this project in real-time. You can also view the latest screenshots, development news, and apply for any new team openings if you are interested.

Thirdly, in terms of overall progress the mod has made the following milestones:

-4 completed factions

-over 80 new unit types

-over 160 new unit models

-over 400 textures

-18 new strat map models

-Newly retextured campaign map

With Version 3.0, which I hope to see completed by early next year we should be done with all base factions and everything from the vanilla Crusades campaign should be converted over to Dei Agminum’s standard.

Now onto Version 2.0 news. The release date is scheduled for this coming Friday 9/8/23. My playtesters are hard at work uncovering any bugs with the current build and doing the necessary quality assurance; I thank them for their efforts! If you yourself are open to play testing, hop on the discord and give me a shout and I will share the current V2 build with you. You will have this opportunity available to you for the next 3 days. All of this will greatly help to make the V2 launch as smooth as possible. Many lessons were learned with the V1 launch and so I am hoping to avoid a lot of potential problems post-launch for V2 by doing these play tests.

What will you get in Version 2.0? All features are as follows:

-An actual installer to make installation seamless

-2 completed Muslim factions: the Ayyubids and the Zengids with unique generals Nur ad-Din and Salah ad-Din

-A greatly enhanced new campaign map.

-New Music

-Working armor upgrades in the campaign for elite units

-Multiple Mercenary types available in Syria, Palestine and Egypt for all factions

-More defined faction bonuses to better differentiate the current factions and to give them all actual strengths and weaknesses

-Updated Arabic names for Ayyubid and Zengid units as well as more accurate Arabic names for characters

I will have more detailed release notes when V2 drops. Thank you for your support and kind feedback over the years, it means a lot. I have dedicated almost 5 years of my life to this project and I can confidently say that my vision is finally starting to be realized.
