This mod aims to bring the extra-galactic race of Yuuzhan Vong into SW: FoC as a playable 4th faction. Original factions will receive new units to fight these invaders.

Shielding: Very High(delay 0,03 seconds)
Abilities: Deploy Shield; Boost Speed; Regeneration (high)
Complement: 3 Squadron of Yorik-ets (6 in reserve)
This is a defensive pattern of the Vong main battleship - Miid Ro´ik. It sacrifices Rock Spitters of the standard variant for numerous Dovin Basals, so it has the best shielding of all Vong ships. Beside this they also grant it better mobility (can be temporally boosted) and also enlarge the radius preventing enemies to spawn reinforcements near the ship.
But their main feature is the ability to project several space distorting fields for a while, which protect nearby allied ships, swallow incoming projectiles and jam missiles as well as enemy fighters (all this actually happens ingame). However, the ship can´t use its Dovin Basals for propulsion while this ability is active.

thanks! the 3D orange branch has actually no texture yet, it´s only orange colour with some gloss. but I hope you were referring to those tiny branches (those 2D) which are actually a render of a high-poly model I´ve made, because I wasn´t happy with the one created originally by Shapers.

that´s actually not a bad idea at all! on the other hand it will strip down enemy shields as any other Vong ship so I didn´t want to waste the ability for that. so I wasted on casual boost speed...hmmm...maybe I should think it over...
well, we will see.

We might take this idea and use it for the vua'spar, since that has the largest dovin basals, giving that ship 2 special abilities: shield and interdiction
yeah, that would make sense too. Our will get gravity well equivalent (not a surprise) and sort of a tractor beam..or should I say tractor field?
It has actually nothing common with the DEPLOY ability. I thought about using the LOCK_FOILS for that but this would mean the ship itself would have to be shielded and I´m trying to avoid that at any cost. Beside of this it wouldn´t be able to jam missiles (and no, it´s neither the ability of Interdictor) and damage fighters when the shield is on. I´ll give you a hint-the deployed shield isn´t in fact part of the Miid Roik´s model ;)
Ahhh, that's what you did. That's actually pretty smart, wouldn've have come up with that myself. Very unique use of it ;)
Just taking a complete shot in the dark here, but does the ability spawn an immobile, untargetable "unit" which is actually the shield? Projectiles would impact its collision mesh instead of your other units, and it would damage fighters within it like buzz droids.
