So lets see what you can make from a few of these images. You have seen them all before at some point...

So lets play the guessing game then. As there's clearly a small vong fighter visible, which would be this one, as it's the only vong fighter that's actually textured: Moddb.com . Additionally, as there's only ever been about...4? vong ships textured, I'd say the large blub is this carrier: Moddb.com
The beam would be more difficult if you've never seen it before, I have though but who am I to spoil it. That'd be the thing I rigged/coded for you guys, that your coding guy made a mess of. Appart from that a few lava bursts, I think that is what the vong shoot if I recall correctly.
Damn I'm good at guessing games, though really it's not that hard to deduce from the images shown before the textured models.
I believe there is a picture of the beam earlier on...

I dunno, for me it looks like the Vong equivalent of the Death Star.
I'm not that familiar with the era of the Vong-War though.
