Modern Warfare Mod brings World in Conflict from the Cold War into the Modern Age. It also ups the ante on realism and authenticity in every role – Infantry, Armor, Support and Air, while trying our best to keep everything relatively balanced for fun and interesting gameplay.
Video taken from MW Mod 3.0 development build. AI launches ballistic missiles and attempts to attack the SAM site with anti-radar (SEAD) missiles.
I have always been curious, is it possible to interact with of map TA?
Intercepting missiles or shooting down aircraft?
I might come back and start making some more maps in a month or two after my A level exams are over, this is really looking superb!
Nope it's not possible, but more and more stuff is being changed from TA to actual units (like the jets from the FARP).
awesome look like real one
Is the Patriot as effective at intercepting Ballistic missiles in real life? Just curious
Yes.
They have perfect record of intercepting every short range ballistic missile thrown at their engagement area during 2003 OIF. 1 Cruise missile leaked through as the system was not configured to detect cruise missiles at the time (anticipated threats were BM's only).
1991 Gulf War was different story with mixed results. The original PAC-2s (non-GEMs) were designed for intercepting SS-21 and SS-23 short range ballistic missiles that top out at between Mach 4 to Mach 5 ingress speeds. They were not designed for engaging longer ranged older Scuds, as such tactical threat did not materialize from the USSR in the 80's. Iraqi modifications to the Scuds also benefited them in providing natural decoy penetration aids as the missile broke up during re-entry, effectively creating a chaff screen.
Even then, despite what they were not designed to do in 1991, they still intercepted a good amount of them.
Does the support AI finally use artillery now in 3.0?
Awesome to see all this 3.0 footage after being away for 2 weeks.
Is it possible to put ICBMs in the mod, or is it too much?
Have, for example, the missile silos from the "Silo" map as a usable object that can launch a missile and to counter it make something cool like a "Great Pine" RADAR system and an Arrow 3 battery?
Or is it too much?
