War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

Within the bodies of all Elves burns bright their fëa, allowing for swift recoveries and high resilience. Of all the Elves in Beleriand, these Elven Lords are amongst the hardiest, the light of the West, of Valinor still burning bright in their eyes. Only the most might and powerful of the Noldor have the honour of serving within their King's guard retinue. They are quick to anger and deadly in their wrath, smiting down all foes of the King and clad in mail wrought by smiths with skill dwarfing even that of Telchar the Smith, they are impervious to almost all harm, save that inflicted upon them by great multitudes of foes or powerful wraiths and balrogs. These Elves will serve their Lord with dogged loyalty and fight till all their blood is spent.

Good descriptions, I quite like this one, but it is too long and Numenohtar's description captures better the feeling evoked in all of us when we read the Silmarillion. Still a good description though.

Ellin, this mod looks amazing

I am rather jet-lagged, so excuse the run on sentences and slight incoherency. I can add more if needed.

Perhaps a little about their steeds and that they are mounted after the description of their gear?

Mightiest and most valiant of all the Noldor, Fingolfin surrounded himself with warriors of like mettle and mood. Indeed, his mounted guard are the most steadfast of his House, and are arrayed in the colors of his banners; silver and blue. Their lances are fell, their swords long, and their helms shine like towers of silver under skies of glittering stars. The steeds they ride are of the stock of Valinor. The fathers of their mounts were bred in Aman, now the hooves of their scions sound on the plain of Ard-galen, for the House of Fingolfin keeps close watch on the land of Morgoth.

(Fattened it up a bit more, with an added sentence or two on the unit in action):

Mightiest and most valiant of all the Noldor, Fingolfin surrounded himself with warriors of like mettle and mood. Indeed, his mounted guard are the most steadfast of his House, and are arrayed in the colors of his banners; silver and blue. Their lances are fell, their swords long, and their helms shine like towers of silver under a sky of glittering stars. The charge of the High King's mounted guard is awesome to behold, and the the footmen of the Enemy wither before them. When they pierce an unguarded flank, their foe begins to rout, skewered and thoroughly trampled. The steeds they ride are of the stock of Valinor. The fathers of their mounts were bred in Aman, now the hooves of their scions sound on the the plain of Ard-galen, for the House of Fingolfin keeps a close eye on the land of Morgoth.

(Next up: Hadorian Guard!)
