War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

Finally, rather hastily written though:

The most fair and wise of the Teleri, the Sindar or Grey Elves are. Before the arrival of the Noldor, the Sindar would wander far and wide, knowing nothing other than tranquility and relative peace. Elwe or Elu Thingol all the Sindar hailed as High Lord and he granted them the lands they desired. But as they were a people scattered and innocent of war, they fell easily to ravaging orcs from the North. The armies of Thingol repelled the orcs and once more there was rest in Beleriand, but great stores of weapons and gear were made. The grey Elves of Mithrim took only bows and blades however preferring stealth over open war. Even once the Noldor came, many of the Sindar kindreds stayed in their lands and became befriended with the Noldor who settled there or were driven forth. The Grey Elves of Mithrim dwelt in the lands taken by King Fingolfin and there was friendship between the kindreds of the Noldor and Sindar there. Although they were not as war-like as their kin, the Sindar too did great deeds in the war against Morgoth, often the Sindar of Mithrim could be seen marching under the banner of Fingolfin, off to war. Their raiment of war is a gray garb, long and with a cloak, and they wear no armour, no mail hauberk nor helm. Great bows they bear and long swords too, having great skill in the usage of their weapons. They are swift, more so than their heavily armoured allies and enduring like all the Eldar are.

Just read over the one I wrote, I missed an obscene amount of punctuation.
