War of Powers is an RA3 mod with a fictional background depicting the outbreak of the Cold War. WoP involves many real-world units and tactics, while the mod itself also concentrates on overall balancing. The mod would definitely bring players with a unique gaming experience different from what they can receive from the original RA3. The background setting is still an alternate history but much closer to the Generals Universe than the Red Alert Universe.


This game keeps the RA3 three main factions: the Soviet Union, United States of America, and Empire of the Rising Sun(Japan),but showed in a realistic version. There will be more specialized unit roles, more detailed weapon differences, and more realistic battle settings. In future versions, the sub-factions will be introduced. China, Yugoslavia, Korea, Thailand, Great Britain, and other Commonwealth countries, Israel, Eurocorps, includes France, Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia countries, and the United Arab Republics which failed in the real history.


This mod has three characteristics that totally different from the Red Alert 3 gameplay. The first one is the secondary economy system, which brings more money to you after specific upgrades. NO OUT OF ORE/MONEY MATTER IN RA3 ANYMORE!!!Secondly, basic Infantry like Rifleman and RPG Trooper will not be deployed in barracks. They will be contained in armored personal carriers when they come out of war factories. They can either be deployed by the squad leader’s unique ability and follow the squad leader's order. The last significant change is the top-secret protocols. They are not providing support powers and tech upgrades anymore. Instead, they provide experience upgrades like the battle academy and unlock select units like C&C: Generals did. The support powers like recon scan and airstrike will be deployed by tech and production buildings like C&C3 and KW. You can upgrade its power levels in the production menus.

But a question to the developers
Is there's a plan to add C&C Generals' like dozers and buildings, also normal airfield strips for jets to take off and land?

Hi! I like the mod, it adds the much-needed realism. I have a few questions though: 1) Why is the AI in the campaign so passive? They don't throw any units at my bases. 2) Why is the AI in the Skirmish/Multiplayer so aggressive even on easy? I get swarmed by Apaches and BTR's within 10 minutes. 3) Any chance you could add the top-secret protocols from the skirmish into the campaign? I would like to try out some of the units.

1.The AI in the campaign and the AI in the encounter is not the same system, so the AI in the campaign to build units involved in the campaign's map script has not found a way to modify it.
2.The AI in Skirmish is beefed up. They only have a cheat income gap, not a gap in order or number of troops. I thought of making a simpler AI, but considering that the "Time to Kill" of this mod is much faster than a normal CNC game, even a BRDM could cause serious problems for new players.
3.Support skills and reinforcements in the campaign mode and the use of the AI is the same logic, I am also trying to modify, but I do not know if it can effectively replace.
