Why download this?

NO DLL

  • Everything was implemented in script. If you want to see how I programmed something, just open the PK4 files and have a look. I'll warn you: there's a lot of nasty workarounds! But the result is an awesome mod that will resist breaking changes if the publisher updates Doom 3 in the future.
  • Go ahead and build on top of this if you want. I'm considering this mod "finished" unless someone discovers a truly game-breaking bug with no simple workaround.


Support added for Resurrection of Evil.

  • Start the expansion with the Impwrist and Soul Cube!
  • The Bloodstone now has three modes. It can recharge Essence and Souls; give Hellrails; or spawn Monsterblockers!
  • The Grabber is now a Mass Cannon. It builds up a charge as you move, and has three firing modes that help create space.
  • The Super Shotgun holds 4 rounds and has two firing modes. Spam two-round bursts, or load as many shells as you like!
  • Hunter bosses are accompanied by Cyberdemons. Since the Bloodstone is now completely different, Hunter battles are interesting!
  • Player health and armor increased to compensate for bugs in ROE that disable damage scaling.


Yes, you can beat this without cheats!

  • Some areas of the game become punishingly hard if you waste ammo. Chainsaw everything! Open all of the lockers!
  • I've completed the campaign 4 times now without cheats -- both the base game and ROE. My requirement for releasing this was making sure that I could get through the game a variety of ways. Every section has been tested thoroughly.

How do I make the chainsaw not have that idle sound? Yikes and ouch my brain!
I would like to play this but that noise going even when holstered in the beginning is driving me nuts! DX

Press Reload to turn the Chainsaw OFF. The pitch change is intentional and will make sense when you are fast-switching to it and speeding around. But yes, the intro? Ergh... I couldn't reliably hide the Chainsaw, so I gave up, and put the OFF function on Reload for just this reason.

I expect people would press buttons and find it. Hrm. OH well =\. Sorry!

Every weapon has at least 2 firing modes, sometimes three. The Chainsaw is turned OFF when you reload, and you fast-switch to it. You shouldn't be walking around with it out for more than a second or two, except for the opening sequences -- where I wasn't able to code a Hide() event that worked reliably.

Many other guns do something special on Reload too. If you do come back to try this and still cant stand the chainsaw, open the PK4 as a ZIP, find the chainsaw noise under "sound" that you don't like, and swap it for one you do :).

UltraViolence is not an "adult" mod, but the Soulchick could very easily be considered "adult". I'm not aware of any way to properly tag such content on ModDB, and I didn't see any obvious guidelines about content while making the mod page. I figured it best to leave the download on Nexus where users can explicitly filter out adult content.

Is there a technical problem with the Nexus website for you?

Don't worry, you can upload it here on Moddb and won't get in major trouble because of the adult textures. This is because the Lost Mission mod has adult textures for a female corpse, and it's still up. Moddb won't crack down on you for certain textures, especially in horror games, so you can put a file on here. Plus, speaking of the Soulchick, is it ok if I use her files in my mod as long as I credit you?

I will upload here. I've had a look around and you're right - my mod is very unlikely to to cause upset.

Go ahead and do whatever you like with the mod's stuff. I'm very big on open modding. However, I think the Soul Chick's art kinda sucks! I did what I could, but in the hands of someone who can make decent art, starting from scratch might be better and yield models you could use for female soldiers/zombies/etc. Whatever works for ya, give me a poke if you do make something derivative and post it, always curious :).

Credits are nice but not required. If someone ever finds what you make and wants to work backwards it'll help them, but I don't specifically need a mention for my ego or anything ;). I do this for fun. Hope you have fun too!

Thanks! I'm still updating my mod for the next version, and I will use a few monsters from yours. I'll still credit, because people will need to know you made the monsters so they can be directed to your mod to get the files they may want to use. Happy new year.
