Transistor was a brilliant game--it had stunning art, a fantastic and intelligent (albeit complex and subtle) narrative, interesting and thoughtful gameplay, and superb voice acting. However, Transistor suffers from an anti-problem; the game strove for quality over quantity. Recursion mode (Transistor's form of New Game +) aimed to fix the game's playtime somewhat, but most opine that Recursion fell short. Enter Transition(). Transition() is a series of Transistor mods made by 0Azimuth and friends. Each mod refines and restructures Transistor's gameplay into a new theme. The first mod, Hyperthread(), encourages using Functions in real-time and using Turn() as an evasion mechanic, making faster-paced gameplay. You can read more about it on the Features page, or head to Tutorials to learn how to download and play it for yourself. Don't forget to report any bugs you find and tell me what you think! Your feedback shapes the future of these mods. Have fun!

Hyperthread(): Real-time, skill-based combat, faster gameplay, less reliance on Turn(), purple tinted UI, and more!

Hyperthread()

THINK FAST.

Hyperthread() is all about real-time, frantic, skill-based combat. Functions have been modified and even re-coded to shoot faster, cooldown faster, and chain together more easily. Some functions perform radically differently to compliment Hyperthread()'s new playstyle.

TURN() WON'T SAVE US.

Transistor often discourages you from attempting much other than evasion outside of Turn(). With Hyperthread(), Turn() is little more than an evasive maneuver. Though you may still need and use Turn() in combat, it alone won't win you any fights, and many functions are no longer usable in Turn().

RED THE ACTIVIST.

Hyperthread() features a newly tinted UI, text and tutorial changes, typo fixes, and numerous easter eggs throughout Transistor. These changes are meant to compliment Hyperthread() while Hyperthread() compliments Transistor itself, and no change made is meant to replace or override Transistor's original feel.

READY WHEN YOU ARE.

You can play Hyperthread() right now and be influential in the mod's ongoing development by going to the Downloads tab and installing the most recent version.

Play Hyperthread() on a new save with Limiters on, and send feedback my way to shape the future of Hyperthread()! Have fun.
