Tour of Duty is a realistic team play mod for Valve's awesome game Half-Life. The game is set at the height of the Vietnam war, between 1967 and 1973 allowing you to relive the conflict fighting either for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) or the Viet Cong (VC)/North Vietnamese Army (NVA).
Redux is a HD modification for Tour of Duty, adding :
- Higher quality models, sounds, and sprites.
- Detail Textures for all maps.
- Higher quality graphical GUI.
- More fitting manual.
- Fixes some inconsistencies on texts.
- Other things i forgot to list here.
Redux already includes Tour of Duty, so you don't need to need to install the older version, just install this one and you're good to go!

Also, special thanks to the guys who made the content that was put together for the creation of this remod, i suck at doing these kinds of things, but i love Half-Life modifications and think that since there's only like 2 Vietnam-based mods for HL, and only one of them is remodified (Heart of Evil Napalm Edition), i figured i should do something about that, hopefully, this can make atleast a few people return to the game and continue playing HL mods.

sv_lan is currently set to 1, anyone having trouble with servers might want to turn that off, sorry for the inconvenience.

After like atleast 4 months of work, this mod is finally here! The current release is 1.0, if there is something wrong or anything, that's probably why.

Hi I'd like to bring this to Source engine as a different mod, I have my own idea. Is there any way I can acquire the source code to this game? It would be a perfect base to start from.
I missed this mod. I had forgotten what it was called and just happened to come about it now on my conquest to play all HL1 mods. ^_^ This brings back fond memories, but the game looks a lot better than I remember. It used to be quite rough around the edges and I actually miss that believe it or not.
But the idea of the Widow Maker only having 20 rounds per mag and the sapper being able to place those mines especially in tight crawl spaces and in the thick foliage I really liked. And of course the grenade launcher to clear them out. ^_^
I understand if people have forgotten or maybe not even known about this gem, but I do not even see a way to get a server online. No option or am I just missing something as their wording on things are confusing at times. I would love to see this come back again, even if only in a small knit group of people.
It would be possible to get the source code, SDK... For this mod?

Ok finally got this redux finally working along with shrikebot v2.31 but I use good old non steam HL won v1110. So shrikebot simply was not working bec. was not updated for the TOD steam version.
The weapon skins are defenitely much better on this pack so I copy pasted them on tod 1.21 hehe now game looks much better.
