This modification offers an alternative gameplay to Tiberian Wars involving many Tiberian Sun units which many CnC fans (like me) missing in vanilla CNC3 and add even new my made units which you can't find anywhere else. Story is quite the same like Tiberian Wars, but is all about what if GDI and Nod do not abandon technologies they have used in Tiberian Sun era and instead of that further developed them. But it's not only that, there are many visual, sound and balance changes which I want to see and hear in my mod, new sounds, new music, new effects (like blood and gore, new infantry deaths, new more realistic missile trails) and many more.

It seems similar to the Scrin Stalwart trooper, because the close range attack. The EMP ability can be really useful.

Looks terrific, I guess it'll be using Brute's voice from Yuri's Revenge?

In all honesty I don't like it. Its too primitive and a little illogical to wanna throw into a battle field realistically. Just my opinion though. I do like the other units you have done so far though

agree with you brah...
but logic is not a priority compared to gameplay, uniqueness, and last but not the least, coolness...

Yeah, I'm not quite feeling it either. I guess we'll see. Maybe it'll grow on us in-game.

Reminds me though...the old Fanatics unit might make sense for this faction. New model and name of course.

You have to remember the forgotten are a faction of those who have survived the mutational exposure to tiberium and make their living now living among the ruins of the civilized world so their primitive look very much fits the faction. Also as for the illogical perhaps they are more of a tank unit to draw fire from your other troops as I imagine their mutation has made them far more durable and a big *** mutant charging you would definitely grab my attention rather than his little buddies shooting at me.

You do have a point as well. Similar to the brute in halo that uses that energy sword thingy. But I just though that by 2050 units using melee combat would have been ruled out all together. Fanatics are different because they have large explosives. But this is just a video game so realism isn't the key concept

You forget that tiberium has pretty much consumed 75% of the planet for decades and the GDA and the brotherhood pretty much guard all their technology with zeal unmatched so despite it being the future the forgotten at best would have early 21st century gear they managed to scavenge and fix up. Also they may not want to waste valuable guns and resources on the brutes as it says they are not exactly the most reliably stable individuals so instead they make use of their hardiness and ferocity and equip them with melee weapons with which they would excel. The firearm has revolutionized combat for two centuries but given the right circumstances and the right wielder melee combat could gain advantage over it.

That's not 100% true though. There is a lot of abandoned GDI and Nod equipment in the yellow zones that the Forgotten might have picked up--remnants of bases, disabled vehicles, weapon stockpiles that couldn't be evacuated, so on. Heck, you can even see wrecks of Mammoth Mk.2s laying around, who knows what kind of hardware got left in them?

That's not to say I expect the Forgotten to be advanced, but there's still a possibility they might have some (semi) advanced hardware. It'll still be obsolete by GDI or Nod standards, but it'd still give them a bit of a boost in strength.

"My life for Aiur!"

Heh. Just kidding.

But seriously now, I for one do like it and its design, and I think the idea of a physical combatant suits the Forgotten - a faction of down-and-out survivalists with only recycled and/or makeshift weaponry available - who in spite of their lack of resources have the advantage of being better adapted to a Tiberium ecosystem. Plus, it showcases the fact that tiberium mutation is anything but pretty, even if you do manage to survive it.

Also, I believe there was mention of a strain of mutant in the original CnC bible by Westwood Studios. It was called Berzerker (personally, not exactly fond of that 'z' there), whose physical and mental state had deteriorated by the mutation to such extent, they went... well, berserk. The original Mutant Marauder model from vanilla CnC3 MIGHT have been inspired by the Berserker, at least in terms of looks.

There's also mention of "[...]They expel a fluid that rapidly bonds to the mutant’s still-human flesh, hardening into an exoskeleton. While the exoskeleton consumes the human body’s exterior, Tiberium toxins mutate the interior, rebuilding massive amounts of marrow and muscle tissue into crystal formations."

So my guess is Carnius got the idea from Westwood's CnC bible, but that's just me. If so, I think the name of the unit should be changed to Berserker (again, without that 'z'), as it would better describe them.

To be honest I would prefer a visceroid to take this "melee/tank" role instead this unit.

Description

Brutes are forgotten advanced anti-vehicle infantry but they are dangerous also to light infantry. Brutes are humans mutated beyond redemption. What left from their sanity makes them sacrifice themselfs in recless charge on enemy causing as much damage as they can. They are using close combat claws made from mononuclear tiberium crystals so sharp and durable that penetrates even thick armor plating. In addition to that brutes generates close range emp pulse to disable their pray for short period of time. They also drink blue tiberium extract to make them even more stronger and dangerous. Brutes growth too large and agile that cannot be crushed by any vehicle.
