Tiberian Eclipse is being designed to improve upon the concepts of C&C4. Improved gameplay, new features, and an evolution between Westwood's & EA's concept of tiberium will be presented. Experience the return of some of your favorite units, evolution of others, and entire new ones in what we hope will come together to make a great conclusion of the C&C: Tiberium Series.
An extra set of legs would do wonders. Maybe two stretching out at the back to give it a little feeling of support since it looks like that thing could topple over because of the fuel tanks. But aside from that its awesome.
^this
i agree
That´s really awesome! I only hate the exposed fuel tanks
they been around ever since the first CnC
indeed to griffinZ and remember small tanks is less fire :P.
and I have to agree with Iman7 I think it is better to have 6 legs.
Yeah its not a sickle after all. :)
it a spider monkey lol
is it a vehicle or more like a drone?
awesome looking unit btw.
it reminds me of the Guysack from Zoids
Wow, and I trough EAs flame tanks were ugly...
Tanks are way to big, the legs seem to fragile and it should have 2 more to somewhat resemble a beetle.
It also reminds me of the scrin, which might or might not be a good thing (depends on you point of view).
However, the whole design strike me as pointless - unless it can travel over cliffs, it can only move on the same terrain as a normale tracked vehicle, so whats the point in giving a unit with a short ranged fire weapon a fragile propulsion device?
A flametank needs a design that can either take a beating (TD, TW, Reengade) or attack and escape REALLY quick (TS), else its useless.
(the reflection on the ground also seems to be a bit of, it doesnst fit with the position for the last leg)
heared about the Terror Factor? And since it's already fragile with it's huge fuel tanks, it doesn't really matter if you have legs. About positive things with legs: Less vulnerable to mines, it have to step right on them, they are hard to hit, should be pretty easily replaceable if destroyed, since the chassis would probably not take damage if the leg gets destroyed, much more agile when walking over debris, and it would make the capitalist dogs **** bricks.
Terror Factor? Whats the point? Its a fuckling flame tank, infantry will run from it anyway, no matter if it has tracks or leg or wings or whatever.
(but I guess it depends on your point of view if the legs increase or reduce the terror factor)
With a body like that, it could be very, very fast. A change from the slow flame tanks of the past.
well, you do got a point, but the difference is that a flame tank would make you run away as fast as you can, this one would paralize you with horror, or atleast put you in despair. If I ever seen this IRL I know I would have nightmares about it.
Dude, it's about how effective a unit is, and "fear factor" could be applied to any vehicle, why don't armies today make all combat vehicles look like spiders?
The design presented here is really fragile, and would be destroyed easily. Not so NOD-like, since flame tanks are more expensive, unlike the usual cannon-fodder they use. Instead, they should be more stealthy and maybe be able to dig themselves or something. That would resemble the Brotherhood's doctrine a lot more.
because modern walkers sux arse... but none the less they are frequently featured in games and films set in the future, in theory they would be more effective then wheel vehicles, we just don't got an effective way to make it move like it should, most modern robots can only walk on flat ground... But leggs are more versatile then wheels and tracks.
I have to fully agree with Stygs here, its designs like these that made me resent CNC4's art style. A shame to see you go the same route!
Fire scarab ? can it transform into a turret as scarab tank ? :P
droideka arms xD, great model, cant wait to see it ingame
I like this, seems to be a lot of negative criticism flying around but for me, it fits.
I would keep the 4 legs, nod's idea is to keep it simple, so why add an extra pair when they are unneeded. The only problem I can see is scaling. Judging by the size of the cockpit this thing's huge. And if it's not huge in-game, then it will look too small...
Well, if you have 4 legs, you run in a small animation problem: if the tank raises more than one leg, it might look like its will fall over - hence most walker in games either a) look either humanoid (2 legs), are b) very small (so you wont notice it) or c) have more than 4 legs.
It takes a skilled animator to pull it off otherwise (like the TW Tripod).
Well, I am looking forward to see an ingame model ;)
In the tripod's case, the animator could easily shift the weight to offset the lifted leg. That's the beauty of organics, as shifting weight and belt-line/shoulder-line rotation can keep an object balanced on very little. This cannot be true with the rigid design like this unit, it's just not going to work.
Please, guys, think about the engineering.
Looks nice just as it is, idk about 6 legs, the point about support is reasonable. And about the tanks. Give this thing insect wings!!! When folded, they'll protect the tanks, and with the help of this things the unit can...well, not fly I'd say jump. Short distance. And fast. Would look like what the soviet KDB-5 Sickle from RA3 does)))
if u keep the 4 legs id say use it as a drone so it wouldent fall over as easily, plus this think would look sick if moved fast
i think it should have 6 legs, and the body needs a size decrease, also, i think the benefits of the waker is that it is almost immune to mines, and i think it should have a power, like it can half burrow itself to be a turret, like the tick tank. the legs could dig it self in, and that increases defense
I think I already left behind a comment regarding the Fire Scarab, so here it is :
It looks kind of nice but it does defy the laws of physics in terms of weight because of the fuel tank is heavy and may result the scarab being belly-up. The old tank style will stop that though. Hope you better not get into the whole EA-cartoony style (At least this one is only 40% cartoony), C&C4 already disgrace us long enough and I bet the hatred still goes on.
Hey now, the limpet and terror drones weren't that cartoony... I was more worried about getting rid of the buggers.
The 2 drones from the game are not that cartoony, I know that, except I'm worried this scarab may look cartoony. But we all know cartoony units are not acceptable in the Tiberium universe.
this flame tank look graet
Not bad but it does look more organic, maybe you can make it look more robot like.
i think the fuel tanks shoud be filped to be over the body it self not behind it so the 4 legs can hold it,also fuel tanks can be smaller as it is a cheap tank, and the body shoud have more curved frame not too edgy
Funny...
Change the 2 big fuel tank for 4 small tanks, would look more, well "possible"
in my opinion you should try something other than cylinder fuel tanks. just about all cnc games have the fuel tanks right out there to be shot at, perhaps have the tanks designed so that they are not so obvious, perhaps have a light armor coating over either them or have them look like they are a part of the main body and not like canisters that attach to it. just an idea, although it might get shot down.
Actually thats a good Idea, I like :)
It looks like a Cool and special design indeed BUT i sond think it can fit that well....
I'm scared to animate that
:(
copy the sickle? Or if you use six legs just use the stingrays animation
looks like a big bug... sweetness... I've always liked GDI for there powerful vehicles and infantry but the Nod Vehicles do look pretty awesome
HAHAHA!
The ends of the flamethrower arms look like Droidekas'(Destroyer Droids') Lasers
Awesome,a fast flame tank, awesome concept guys, keep it up
BURN BURN MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Add an extra set of legs behind it *in the back area* for kinetic impact support.
Meaning when it gets hit it can fall back to the back 2 legs *being pushed backward* and they can dig in and stop the impact from destroying it.
It makes technical sense.
I think that to make this unit look a bit more decorative you definately need to put on a flamable sign on both the fuel drums. They look a little bit blank and just seem to be missing something, some, detail.
You follow?
Abilities should be:
-Minus 50% or some chance of avoiding triggering mines.
-Cliff jumping or rather cliff climbing with those legs.
-Given the appearance it should be a one of the faster units.
Also, an alternate name would be good: FIRE SCARAB?
Also if you modify Shadows, that would be awesome. If I could I'd make them do a move where they jump down a cliff and descend using their wings a little, a much faster way for getting DOWN from cliff than flying up and down, at least. Would fit well with the type of unit the Shadows are.
That is the best rendition of a flame-anything I have seen yet!
Creapy, a well done insect shape.
very wierd im gonna have to get used to that but i think it would look great accompanyed with cyborg army
halo covenant scarab with flamethowers epic win
