The fine individuals who have brought you C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux and Tiberian Sun Redux for CnC Zero Hour, have decided to switch over to CnC 3 to give you a more Tiberian Sun themed mod then they could on Generals Zero Hour. The mod will feature all of the Original Tiberian Sun and Firestorm units, together with new never seen before Forgotten units and structures, GDI and Nod Tiberian Dawn Timeline units and structures you can capture on the battlefield or even if you want play as them, and remove those Hightech egg-heads from the battlefield. With all this extra firepower a new faction have arrived, little to none information is available at the time for what there purpose is in this war, but we will find out soon.
The GDI Starport Dropship Bay is the landing spot for the GDI Dropship that lands the Mammomth MKII. Only 1 Starport can be build.

WIP? co's I imagine the building/control building part standing in the way of the landing, are you going to use this building for other drops as well? would be a waste to create a structure just for one unit.

The command building's safety depends on the building's scale - if the Dropship fits comfortably onto the pad there then there's nothing to worry about as long as the pilot and his computers are sensible.
Ingame in TS this thing would have been pretty small, but the snippet of FMV which shows this would make it about the right size for a dropship to land safe and sound on it.

or maybe some extras like titan and wolverine building isfaster but is more expansive

More like tossing in some money to get a team of fully trained units rather then going for the normal cheaper untrained units, plus you can only order in so many veteran reinforcements.
