We realise this is late, but we've all been sick and busy for the last week or so, so it took longer than expected. The mod is progressing fairly well, however due to certain people's school situation and other commitments, there are currently three people working on the mod and as such it is going slightly slower than usual. These three are Med8r (Mapper), Enceladus (Mapper, Skinner) and myself (Modeler, Mapper, Coder, Rigger). Anyways, if you remember in August we had this update about the Imperial Remnant. This time it's about the New Republic. Keep in mind the era for the New Republic depends on the leader of the Imperial Remnant, and not their own (which is why some NR leaders span multiple eras).

The fledgling New Republic still very much resembles the Rebel Alliance that spawned it, though is somewhat more established across the galaxy. Infighting amongst the Imperial Warlords present a great advantage to the Republic and it is now within striking range of Coruscant. The army and navy are still rather weak and, except for fighters, most ships are inferior to their Imperial counterparts. A major advancement is the MC80B which is far more capable in combating Star Destroyers than its predecessors.

Meanwhile, rumours indicate that the renowned tactician Grand Admiral Thrawn has returned to lead the Empire, a very real threat.

The New Republic holds more territory than the Empire; however the reborn Palpatine has accumulated enormous firepower around several key strongholds, allowing for quick and devastating expansion from Byss. This endangers the stability of both the Republic and the galaxy. Many new classes of ships are being rushed to the front lines on both sides, including the powerful MC90 and Republic Star Destroyer.

Daala and Pellaeon have managed to unite the squabbling Imperial factions and have turned their attention to the common enemy presented by the New Republic. Although they have access to fewer shipbuilding facilities, there are many New Republic border worlds that present easy targets. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker has established his Jedi Academy, and the New Class project has come into full swing with many newer, more powerful New Republic ships being produced to replace outdated designs.

While some within the New Republic and Imperial Remnant are trying to secure peace after decades of war and rebellion, the negotiations are hampered by dissident elements within both governments who continue to push for the destruction of the other. Although relegated to a fraction of the territory it once held, the Remnant has begun to search through less conventional avenues for warships and personnel which may prove superior to those fielded by the New Republic.
